I use Nero 6, since it's a very light program with all the features you need for burning Wii backups. I also recommend using quality discs such as Verbatim and TDK, since cheap discs like Maxell are known result in bad burns and errors. I've also had my fair share of frustrations with burns stopping at 99%. Depending on the power of your PC, I could recommend closing all other programs, and perhaps restarting the PC before doing your burn sessions. I always burn at 4x speed, but opinions will vary depending on PC and Drive capabilities.

Right click your iso and check the properties to make sure it reads: size: 4.37 GB (4,699,979,776 bytes). I've downloaded a few bad dumps that were slightly less than this size, and would never finish burning past around 96%. Even though I had to manually eject the disc from the drive, and could see the very small "unfinished" ring around the edge of the disc, some of these backups still launched, but most didn't. Hope this was helpful in some way.

Nero 6? IMGBurn is the best burning software, hands down.
IMGBurn always gave me log errors, even after redownloading it. Most people swear by it, but I wasn't that impressed. It's basically just an advanced mod of DVD Decrypter. I only suggest for him to use it because IMGBurn doesn't seem to be working for him, much like my experience. I burned all my backups using Nero 6, was much faster, and had very minimal burn issues. That's just my experience.

hey thanks guys;

after the 2 failed imgburn tries, i tried using a trial version of Nero's backup and burn, but im confused because the iso wont fit on one disk. Im using a dell D630 latitude with 4.7 GB capacitiy memorex one time writeable dvds. The iso is registering as 4.37 GB (4,589,824 kB so that might be the problem) I dont if this caused the problem but after I extracted the dump I used the IOSpatcher.exe and wiiur_v1.0.exe according to a youtube vid i saw. at this point I dont really know to do: the problem could be either my laptop, the memorex dvd, the exe files or the dump. What should be my next course of action? is the exe files really necessary? or if someone could sticky a thread from start to finish of burning a dump id appreciate it. Also if it help, my wii has a wasabi zero chip in it.

Did you try the disc you first burned?
From the log it looks like it failed to verify which could indicate a bad burn, but unless I missed something the burn did complete.

Nero won't burn any better than IMGburn and vice versa.
IMGburn has more options for messing with burn settings and nero has a bunch of options for converting audio to cd and other non-burning functions. Take your pick for a Wii ISO there is no difference.

Better media is a good suggestion, cheap discs aren't that much cheaper.

**edit**
Code:
W 15:41:17 DeviceIoControl(FSCTL_LOCK_VOLUME) Failed! - Reason: Access is denied.
W 15:41:17 DeviceIoControl(FSCTL_DISMOUNT_VOLUME) Failed! - Reason: Access is denied.
Looks like you had some device access issues in the log, make sure you don't have other software open that is trying to access the burner or storage drive of the iso before burning. That means no burning software including a second instance of IMGbrn and no media apps like WMP.
Don't read or write to the hdd with the iso file on it whilst burning either. This will cause writing buffers to be used up and interrupt writing to the disc increasing the risk of a poor burn.
Code:
W 14:53:00 Waiting for buffers to recover... (LBA: 873088)
W 14:53:05 Waiting for hard disk activity to reach threshold level...

The only thing I ever did to my isos was use Brickblocker to patch the update partition, and IOS Patcher set to 249 for games like Metal Slug, Call of Duty 3, Mortal Kombat, SSX Blur, and Medal of Honor Heroes 2. You should be able to just burn and play otherwise.

If you live near a Bestbuy store, and can get down there in the next couple days, I recommend picking up these Verbatim DVD-R which are on sale. Otherwise you can find them for around the same price with shipping on Amazon, or another online retailer. I can verify that these discs have a very low failure rate.

yeah might just be a bad rom....but I have had bad roms before and it still burned...only time i get errors is when I disregard the burning process and do other things on the the laptop.......wasted countless numbers of dvdrs that way.....so now i only burn with imgburn open and nothing else, running out of dvdrs xD

maybe thats the problem, cause i sometimes have other things going on; i am just annoyed with boom blox bash party though; ive tried multiple times with 2 different sources and its only burn correctly once but still doesnt work; then i tried getting the 1st boom blox but that didnt burn completely so i am at a loss unless someone has an idea with this particular game
