Well maybe you should check out techradars review of said processor here's some of what they say:
"for a quad-core PC processor, even one designed for laptops rather than desktop PCs, the AMD A8-3500M's raw CPU performance is mediocre. That's because the clockspeed is limited to just 1.5GHz when all four cores are crunching numbers. In fact, in our testing we never detected any cores running beyond 1.5GHz, though AMD says it does happen when only one or two cores are under load."
I'm resigned to the fact that intel has never let me down in a side by side comparison to AMD CPU's.
My P4 Northwood 2.4Ghz HT wiped the floor with my buddies Athlon Barton 2800+, which had the supposed performance rating of 2.8Ghz,never? the P4 and athlon would like to have a word with you.I'm resigned to the fact that intel has never let me down in a side by side comparison to AMD CPU's.
I just tried this with Gitaroo Man. I actually got worse performance.SPU2-X Settings
Mixing Settings pick:Output Settings pick:
- Interpolation - 0 - Nearest
- Disable Effects Processing
everything else can be default. This is the maximum possible reduction in CPU time used on sound processing, but I'm only suggesting this to see if it has any effect on your emulation speed. please also describe your results with FFX, if possible, instead of Okami, since FFX is one of the known best games for success & comparison
- Module - 0 - Emulate SPU2 only

and it wasn't overclocked at all.
Maybe you thought you were talking to a dummy, but on the contrary you're talking to someone who's been building computers and working on them for 10 years.
Did I ever claim to have experience with athlon's and P4's in 2000, sorry but I didn't. Can you even count? Or did you forget what year it was? Also you can say anything you like but saying P4 vs Athlon is a general term and doesn't single out a specific model, that's like saying that Toyota is better than Honda just because the 2005 Corolla had more horse power than the 2005 Civic(Not that it does).wikipedia says: (emphasis added)
By the time of Barton's release, the Northwood-based Pentium 4 had become more than competitive with AMD's processors.[24]
however, before that time, the P4 was getting its trash kicked by athlon chips. that's a fact. the original thunderbird (circa 2000) athlon ran circles around the P4 of the era, and that continued right up until this barton/northwood (circa 2003) generation. that's three years smack dab in the middle of your 10+ years of experience that you decided to conveniently forget. add to that athlon "classic" was no slouch, either, and the window is potentiall longer.
don't pretend that calling me stupid and touting personal experience are supporting arguments. i also happen to know exactly what i'm talking about.

The whole point is that I said Intel has never let "ME" down in a side by side comparison, I wasn't claiming that Intel has always pwn'd AMD. If you took the time to actually read what I wrote you'd know that.
