Nintendo, since Miiverse was shut down, hasn't made ANY chat/communication system, even if only with friends.
This is honestly pathetic, since Xbox/PS both have actual communication systems where you can send messages and chats to people.
So far, we've only gotten back Miiverse in the comment system in Mario Maker 2.
"but muh children can be exposed to bad stuff!!1"
Then restrict it in Parental Controls. Literally everyone can set those up, it's not complex or hard.

They're already moderating MM2, Game Builder Garage, Splatoon 2, SSBU, ACNH and others...
