That song used in the Last of Us by Tj Stafford (aka Uncle Daddy [bands name]) has decided to make their music free. For a little taste of what it sounds like:

So here's the site to download their music from: http://tjstaffordmusic.com/

For an explaination: http://tjstafford.tumblr.com/post/57022558612/grace-music

I talk to this guy on twitter all the time, he's a really cool guy, and they make good music. I definitely suggest listening to Chary and Rise Again.

Kinda neat to distribute music for free, but also kinda pointless. If people want it free, its 1 google search away.
All the same, a nice gesture.

Convert YouTube vids into MP3 = Free music!

Dear god. If you like the quality sound of two rocks grinding together. Youtube converted audio is god awful quality.
As opposed to googling songs and albums and downloading fresh proper MP3s or FLACs.

I don't think it's good enough for that many people to actually be inspired to search for it. Free giveaways serve as self-promotion and get people listening who are attracted by the price but stay for the music...they also generate topics like this "FREE MUSIC!" irrespective of the quality.

Furthermore i play the grinding rocks....it makes my music immensely easy for people to get hold of because i just sit here and let people transcode other songs into mine...;)

Want some more free music?

Nine Inch Nails
"The Slip"
As an added bonus...the license Trent Reznor released it under allows for use in whatever you want as long as it's credited.
Same with "Ghosts" from Nine Inch Nails (which better lends itself to tracking as it's like forty 1-2 minute songs) although "Ghosts" is not free ($6.50 on Amazon).
