really? small tower? though it was regular sized o.O
You just taught me something lol

As for prebuilt NAS, I found this one on Amazon
https://www.amazon.ca/TerraMaster-Transcoding-Personal-Storage-Diskless/dp/B07QSRX57Z/ref=sr_1_5?__mk_fr_CA=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&dchild=1&keywords=NAS&qid=1594602161&sr=8-5
It says it can transcode 4k at 30fps and support PMS
We don't watch 4k here, max 1080p

Do you think this one would work?
That will not transcode your videos, it will only stream the files via Plex. The devices you would be streaming to would have to transcode them. Assuming they're all bad devices that can't transcode 1080p content, that would not work.

I would avoid any pre-built NAS like that, none of them will transcode your videos for you, they have too low power CPUs for that.

oh shit... thanks
Fine, then I guess I'll have to build it myself...
I'll come back here when I'm ready to buy, because I'm not right now, I'm just getting information as to how it works

Thanks again everyone

anyone here know how to use METEO?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    It's very simple.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Meteo is like an AVI-to-GBA converter. Just drag-and-drop your AVI file in, and then convert.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, like those gba carts that have movies and tv episodes in them?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
But Nintendo's GBA video format is different, being that it uses a custom ROM and chipset for rendering, for like the Shrek and Shark Tale titles. Been undumpable for years and years.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    Meteo uses it's own player.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, those roms are dumped currently, right?

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
Although it's kinda pointless to download them anyway since you get the movies in horrible quality
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Yep, they are now, but it took a shit ton of RE'ing.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    RE = reverse engineering
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, can you remind me what reverse engineering meant pls?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Reverse engineering, to put it simply, is to understand how the software or hardware was made.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Lol someone tried using my email to log into Nintendo
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, is that through trial and error sometimes?
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@K3Nv2, did you enter any sus site?
