i think 7 is only most memorable due to marketing of the movie etc....if you want to talk about best gaming memories i would have to agree with emupaul and say ff3...it started my addiction to RPGs...

Automatically saying VII would be too much of a cliché. My favourites would be VII to X with no particular preference for any of those four titles.

Lol, I've never seen the movie.

And imho, FF6 is overrated. When replaying it on my GBASP I dropped it when I reached the second part of the game. Even if this was not my first playthrough of it. Completed it first time lots of years ago.
Personally, I think everyone says "FF3/6j" because it was the first RPG they played (this seems to be consistent with the fact that FF3 was a huge success in the USA), or at least their first FF.
But I genuinely find FF7 being superior in story, gameplay and character design.

Actually, I think I like FF5 more than FF6
