Hacking What if you did a NAND backup then system transfer?

I just thought of something.

What if you backed up your NAND, then did a system transfer to another 3DS, then reloaded it?
Would you have the digital games still?

Then they should stay as well, I suppose. If you want 2 copies of your eShop games/demos you could try it :P

I do not know. You should ask in the 3ds xl hand dumping thread.

Well I haven't been on this site in awhile and can't even use a Gateway (my 3DS is on the latest firmware), but when I saw someone post about reloading the NAND to get around demo limits, it made me think of this.

well, im not sure.... but i think the NAND backup now belongs to the other 3DS you transfered your old one to.

The tickets for downloaded games are stored in NAND. When you do a system transfer you move the tickets from one system to the next, but doing a restore to a pre-transfer NAND image will restore the tickets and allow you to access games on both systems. Going to the e-shop however will revoke the tickets on the old system.
