It's a seasonal thing as in the summer shorts don't offer as many choices.

Indoors nothing (but then half the time I don't have anything on below the waist which makes pockets difficult

).

Outside I will have a cliche wallet with plastic and usually enough cash, band aids (cabainetmaker habit) old army dogtags. I usually can't avoid having my DS with me. Might have a multi tool. If the family is all out the keys too.

Now in the cooler seasons that means additionally pockets in leather jacket and that means several multi tools, some form of candy/mints, keys, writing stuff, folding 12 inch ruler (it's a cabintemaker affectation), glasses (regretably).

Left pocket: DS(i)/Sansa/some other electronics.

Right pocket: wallet/keys/food/a pencil/things you wouldn't even want to know.

Back pockets: nothing, it's safer to have let's say your wallet in your front than in your back pocket, cause people can't see/steal it.

Left Front: Hacky Sack/Footbag (I'm usually with friends, and we love to play)
Left Back: House Key and other random stuff.
Right Front: MP3 Player and DS Lite
Right Back: Wallet (It's a small and thin wallet, so it's hard for other people to see/notice)

I tend not to like to carry much in my pockets. I can feel my pants being pulled down by all my crap.
