Hello,
I had bricked my wii a while ago by installing a incorrect theme and finally got the wii chip I bought. I put it all together and was able to run barnyard Wii game, but trying to run smash bros brawl resulted in a error. What else could I run that would be able to open homebrew?

if you have a NAND backup and priiloader as boot2, you can fix it. not sure when you don't have a backup or it's corrupted.

I think you need to put the boot2 file on the root of an sd card, then boot up. I think it's automatic, but it's been years since I've done any of this.

I don't know anything about restoring it directly as mentioned above, but you could try the "Indiana Pwns" exploit with the LEGO Indiana Jones game. I restored a semi-brick with this once when Smash Bros didn't work.

Don't you need the save file on the wii though?

I think that might be your only choice. I think smash bros brawl is one of the few dual layer disks, which can be tricky. I think even back when it was released there were problems reading it, something to do with a dirt on the lens

Ah, sorry it looks like you're right. It's been a while.
Depending on how wrecked is the wii menu (I wouldn't think it's applicable here) a valid option is to run and save as many games you can get to fill the nand, then the next game will boot the wii menu directly to the save management screen - yes, it's been done more than once :D

What matters most here is whether the Wii Menu's IOS is trucha-enabled or not - if it is, then it's a relatively simple affair to create and run homebrew DVDs

Well how I bricked it was installing a incorrect system menu theme. How many games would I need to run to fill up all the nand? What games would be better and fill up more space?
