Hey.

Anyone tried or have any experience with:
Western Digital Elements 1,5TB ? (Model: WDBAAU0015HBK)

Thinking about buying it and using it for my wii backups and hbc.
The setup im thinking about using a setup with:
- Fat partition(50GB)
- NTFS partition (for the wii games (using configurable usb loader) and other stuff)

I read that it worked on usb loader GX but i didn't see anyone that has tested it with any other loader, anyone that can check or confirm that it works on configurable usb loader with a NTFS partition, and a FAT32 partition homebrew?

Any input on the HDD would be great.

Thanks =D

Besides that, the Loader has nothing to do if the HD works or not. The cIOS is important in this part. If it works for GX, it also works for the other Loaders.

That's the place i checked ^^
Thanks, good to know this info

QUOTE(jelmew @ Aug 13 2010, 10:15 PM) I have the 1TB version and that one works just fine.

is this guaranteed that it will work with the 1,5TB disk also? kinda why i'm asking...

yes i read it, it didn't say anything about homebrew, and it say's it's tested with usbloader GX.
and how was i supposed to know that it was the cIOS that that decided what disk's work and don't, im just a simple noob asking noob questions.

ahhh, fair enough

but generally speaking, either hard drives are compatible for all apps or none... very few drives work for one wii app but not another (although they do exist... but like I said, they're very rare)

well, thanks for the usefull info

Western Digital seem to have very little issues with spin-down.

I have that exact drive. It works very well. No probles whatsoever. They are self powered. I picked mine up at the local electronics store for $89 USD + tax.

I formatted the whole drive to FAT32. No partition needed. I am running configurable USB loader. I personally prefer over the rest. I can store all the Wii and PC backups together.
