Okay, so I don't feel like reading 7 pages of wondering, Is this for real?
Progress is being made. There needs to be a custom payload/a payload that supports HBL for this but some success is being made, not with HBL yet though

Yes, this is real. We have proof of concept, just awaiting a working hbl payload.

Hum... if we can't access HBL yet, is there any other way to install Haxchi through this exploit?
There will be once we can get a working hbl payload.

Short answer: Yes

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

So are we just on the hunt for a compatible HBL payload now?

I managed to boot HBL on 5.5.2 E using this:

I selfhosted it and went back to an older commit: 9998a2ef6a36e710090532c5007b0f0682eb0991
After cloning the repo just type `git checkout 9998a2ef6a36e710090532c5007b0f0682eb0991` before starting it.

Still took a few tries though.

I got it to load on the first try got a message saying "Hello I am ELF" using Exploit 4

Edit:I didnt test Exploits 1 2 or 3 cus I was like "Eh screw it... " and went right to the 4th
Exploit 4 was the same as the big exploit button at the time. Now that would be Exploit 2.

http://u.drg.li/ is hosting the latest commit again now (with a new, more modified index page for informational purposes), maybe it can launch hbl now!

let me know when you have the best setup, with working HBL.
also, try to see if other homebrew are working fine, it may have different memory mapped and render some homebrew unusable? as long as it can install haxchi I guess that's fine.

couldnt make it work from local host, so right now i'd say best setup is:

1. go to http://u.drg.li
2. Select exploits from 0 to 4 until one works
3. Enjoy :D

I thought PS4/5 and Xbox One emulation would be kind of easy since they basically just a PC
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    they sorta are a pc
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They haslve dedicated on board chips that aren't tweaked like x64/x32 afaik
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
but its a custom os for both of them
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    designed for only specific hardware
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
so you have to learn to emulate that specific hardware which isn't as easy as you'd think

It's a locked down Linux distro basically
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think the only custom hardware is to do with the SSD and a security chip
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Probably combined in one chip
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They place married security chips onto boards iirc

Damn Frontier is offering 5Gbps now lol

Didn't see much need for a console, all the advantages have kind of disappeared
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
the ps3 used to support installing linux because the cpu was so powerful
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Then the games are $70 and they want to reboot and refresh the same game every year
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
The ps3 was always Linux they just found a way to make it open source
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
I'm avoiding buying from the big 3 at all atm
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
At one point PC game pads where poorly supported, loading a game had setup, it was complicated. Now it's almost as easy as a console.

nintendo needs to up their game soon
