From the website:

On Linux, you might get an access denied error! If you do, you can try creating a file at /etc/udev/rules.d/50-switch.rules
With the following contents:
SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTR{idVendor}=="0955", MODE="0664", GROUP="plugdev"

Have you created this file?
PS: i recomendr using elijahzawesome version of the web payload laucher.

I have done that and it didn't work - the result was the same. I've also tried elijahzawesome's version, but it's the same as with normal WebFG.

Are you sure you are connected via USB 3 Port?
Can you please post the output of Chrome://device-log (type that on a New tab and please Mark the debug checkbox)

I don't know if it helps, but in my case I had to run chrome as root (and with the --no-sandbox option) for it work properly.
Be very careful about this. Running a browser in sudo mode is dangerous.
Anyway, it's very weird, sudo should not be needed. Maybe your its the usb module?

szymon does the pop up asking for device even appear?

Yes, it was connected to my USB 3 port.
Also, there's nothing in chrome://device-log. There's just my mouse, keyboard and bluetooth adapter:
USBUser[16:17:42] USB device added: path=/dev/bus/usb/001/005 vendor=3468 "C-Media Electronics Inc.", product=18 "USB Audio Device", serial="", guid=d6e64fc2-71dc-4389-89a2-18c621337a97

USBUser[14:55:00] USB device added: path=/dev/bus/usb/001/003 vendor=7847 "WFDZ", product=8194 "Gaming Keyboard", serial="", guid=22c68a8e-b7ff-4fb1-af08-3f27f27e04b3

USBUser[14:55:00] USB device added: path=/dev/bus/usb/001/002 vendor=7511 "SOAI", product=44291 "Gaming Mouse", serial="", guid=9a6f90a7-4427-4cb2-b7db-2d2fe2704a61

USBUser[14:55:00] USB device added: path=/dev/bus/usb/001/004 vendor=2578 "", product=1 "CSR8510 A10", serial="", guid=22aa7ea6-8d32-45c1-ba4d-88d8c258246b

BluetoothEvent[14:54:44] BluetoothAPI: 0x1a9c79936800
Maybe that's because I haven't connected my Switch to my PC today? My PC was rebooted several times after connecting my Switch for the last time, so maybe the logs were cleared.

Just a report.
I got to try it on a Linux Mint install.
It failed with a "Message too long" error.
So i guess it really comes down to your distro usb driver.
I think its possible to change the usb driver module,
but that defeats the whole purpose of a web tool.
Yeah, probably better to stick to the official python
launcher. I'll take a look at creating a GUI for it.

Would it be possible to have a .sh script to install every dependency ready to just drag and drop onto the .py launcher before that?

Yeah, you need to connect it.

Sorry for the late reply. Since Nintendo has started banning users because of hacking, I don't know if I'll continue this (at least for now, we still don't know exactly how and why Nintendo bans users).

No problem.
IMO you're doing the wise thing to do now.
Untill next time, bye.

From the WebFG page:

  • This does NOT work on Windows due to a limitation in the Chrome implementation of WebUSB (and probably other reasons!)
