Hacking Warning! 3DS to have an update in may

I just looked on Google and found out that there will be a 3DS Firmware update in May which will add lots of new features and maybe block flash cards?

Even if updates block the flashcarts I am sure hackers will get workarounds easily.

No 3DS roms have been dumped yet, even when they are, there won't be any way to play them for ages.

Can I ask why this is surprising? It's obvious that Nintendo would take measures against piracy. That and there are still plenty of features to be implemented in the system.

May is so far away... well 2 months. Maybe the current DS mode flashcarts waiting for updates will hold out till after the update to release them?

I really doubt that the May update will block the current flashcarts. Why would Nintendo waste resources and money on that? It wouldn't stop piracy at all since people will still be able to use them in DSLites and DSi systems.

Beware there will be an update that will make the 3DS a 3DS instead of just a DS Lite with a 3D Display.
