Hello everyone,

I recently homebrewed my WII-U and my vwii. When I started using USB-Loader GX I used a 32gb flash drive, which was by no suprise to small.
With the 32gb usb stick I had zero issues running GC Games.
After I upgraded to a 64GB usb drive suddenly all wii games stopped working. Since then I used a variaty of USB-Sticks all formated in FAT-32 with various sizes and vendors.
The weird thing is after changing nothing 2 out of 12 Wii games worked. Then GC games stopped working through USB-Loader GX. If I try to boot GC-Games I get: Memory Card Failure, if I start the same game in Nintendont it just works. Has anyone run into the same problem? Help would be appriciated!

What would be better an Harddrive? Do you maybe have a recomendation?
wd hdd is my suggestion. 1-2TB might be sufficient. wd elements or blue are good ones. black if they make a 2TB one.

You are using the wrong d2x patch in your slots 249, 250 and 251. Beta 53 has lower drive compatibilty, therefore d2x- v10-beta52 is recommended and only supports port 0.

And as already sayed Flashdrives have a big failer potential, hdd`s are recommended and use a Y-Cable.

You will find a lot of threads about topic.

So I hooked up my 1TB Toshiba HDD with a Y-Kable. I plugged the "Thick" Cable into the Upper USB-Port, the "thin" cable into the lower Port. USBLoaderGX displays every game on my drive but just closes when I try to start any game :/

Update Nintendont as that error is normally displayed if you're using an old version.

Assuming you're using USB Loader GX r1281, go to the settings menu and select Default Settings. Then exit back to the homebrew channel and relaunch the loader.

Keep in mind that if you're using another USB for Wii U games then you might need to disconnect that.

Let me recap everything I'm done.
I installed all my roms on my dtb310 toshiba 1tb HDD and connected it to my WII U with a USB Y-Cable.
I dont have a USB Drive with WII U games. I installed WII U games directly onto my Console. So on my Harddrive are only WII games in the WBFS format, GC games in .iso format and Save files.
I also installed USBLoader GX r1281 and restored Default settings and I installed d2x- v10-beta52 on my vWII.
I can load GC games through USBLoaderGX but when I try to load WII games my vWii either:
returns to my Homebrew menu or blackscreens and doesent respond to any Input I make.

Any Ideas how to fix that?

Recommend ===> did you install your wii games with ""wii backup manager"" on your external hard drive??
