So... As a person that had their ReiNand downloaded for them, I'm not aware of the process or hoops that had to be gone through to put the files onto my 3DS or the files that would need to be adjusted in order to update.

Now that update 11.0 is out and I've heard that people are taking themselves up to date, I /really/ need help taking my ReiNand up to 11.0 as well so that I can get online (if that's how it works). I would ask the person that hacked my 3DS to do the updating for me, but I don't feel like being too much of a bother to him. Can someone help me or point me to a guide so that I won't end up bricking my 3DS?

I use reinand and just updated a few hours ago my self, its pretty simple.
First get on your cfw, go to your settings, make SURE it says Rei infront of the firmware version, go to other settings, scroll all the way to the right and click system update.

It's that simple? Thank you so much. I thought I'd have to do a lot of file renaming, switching, etc.

No problem!
Also I should add that you should never update using the popup that occurs over your home menu (Im not 100% sure about this but I think that it causes issues) and if you want to use hombrew still just rename the payload from :

O3DS: hblauncherloader_otherapp_payload_OLD-10-7-0-32-USA.bin

N3DS: hblauncherloader_otherapp_payload_NEW-10-7-0-32-USA.bin

to:

O3DS: hblauncherloader_otherapp_payload_OLD-11-0-0-33-USA.bin

N3DS: hblauncherloader_otherapp_payload_NEW-11-0-0-33-USA.bin

otherwise just ignore

Make sure to update to the latest version of ReiNand, then update to the latest system update, via the System Settings -> Other Settings -> System Update.

As for the file renaming, it's just renaming your HBL payload, if you use the Homebrew Launcher .cia, you can download one that has been renamed from Plailect's A9LH guide. Just make sure to download the correct one for your system+region.

if youre weary of updating, you can use http-pwn to bypass the update and go online without updating.
