Hello,

So our PS3 at home was at CFW and had installed multiMan at 4.55. I'm not sure what type of CFW was installed as I had no idea about stuff like this before. Recently, I made the mistake of connecting the console to the Internet and updating it OFW 4.82, and because of that, I can't access multiMan anymore and it shows the error 80010017. Based on past threads, I believe that the CFW is gone :(

I was wondering if I could get someone to downgrade the OFW to an earlier version so that the PS3 can somehow get the CFW back. I heard the service provider say something about a JTAG that would come back if it gets downgraded. But I really don't know how this works despite searching again and again, please help!

Thank you in advance ^^

Thanks! Read through it though I'm very reluctant to do it myself because of fear that I might it up.

So does it mean that there can be another CFW from 4.82 that can be installed again despite having had CFW before?

I read through a thread that stated some point of no return thing when you upgrade your CFW to OFW but I'm hoping that it's not the case which is why I'm asking around now.

I just really want to be able to use it again like before without screwing it up myself, hoping that a downgrading or jailbreaking service could work, I plan on getting it done later or tomorrow.

:/ Sorry, just really new to this.

You can just follow the PS3xploit to downgrade to 3.55(or install any 4.82 CFW.)

Don't spend money in something you can do for free and much easier

The exploit is really just setting your PS3 to accept any Update file, you just run the exploit, and install Rebug 4.82(or any other that you like)

Just follow the guide step by step, and if anything just ask here

For example, HOW is is risky to get banned if you extract the save files to the CFW?
  • A @ ATEMVEGETA:
isn't this proccess be done while you're offline?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
We are not Nintendo, so we don't know exactly how/why/when they ban, but better to stay on the safe side and not do shady stuff, if you don't want to be banned. Hayato is one of the most knowledgeable ones here on the subject and I believe what he says.

    300 bucks hmmm lol

@BigOnYa, Yes ofc we don't know how Nintendo bans work, but if there are situations where a lot of people have tried safely then we can at least assume that this path is pretty much safe. To say don't try anything homebrew relative just to be safe forever is the easiest thing to say to someone. What I am trying to figure out here is with which cases and what actions got most of the people their bans for.
  • A @ ATEMVEGETA:
Most things I can find resulting to a ban is save-editing reasons, like Pokehex, etc, and going online afterwards.

I'm almost certain fucking Google fibers modems blocking out PPPoE signals
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Like the 6th time I had to reboot this router trying to get PPPoE active
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Ken, your hamster inside it is hungry. Can't you turn POE on/off in your WiFi settings page? Or is it not staying on?

  • A @ ATEMVEGETA:
@BigOnYa, Well, in that thread they say it's pretty much safe to manage save files back and forth to consoles as long as you don't go online with cheats activated or with a pirate game.
  • A @ ATEMVEGETA:
I own every of my games legit with their own cartridges
  • A @ ATEMVEGETA:
also, I'm not planning to use any cheats, etc, just continue the normal gameplay on the emulator
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
It only gives a internet settings option then it spazes out

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
@ATEMVEGETA if you use save from other switch you may be ok, but using a save from emulator to switch will prob get you banned
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    Under ipv4/6
  • A @ ATEMVEGETA:
The save file will be created and started normally on the Switch's OFW with a legit game. Then that save file will be transfered to the emulator and continue the gameplay there. Then send it back to the console.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I feel like I need to touch @Sicklyboy rack to make it work at this point
  • A @ ATEMVEGETA:
The save file(s) would never be created first in an emulator
  • A @ ATEMVEGETA:
Do you think continuing the story on the emulator would flag the save file as illegal? (Again no cheats, etc will take place, only normal story of the game progress)
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
But still using the save on a emulator, then back to switch is shady

Yea, that's the only thing I want to clarify actually. If someone has tried it with no problems.

If using the save on the emulator flags the save file. :/
