Hi there,
Recently I tried to boot up my New 2DSXL, without a microSD card and I got this message:
An error has occurred:
Failed to mount CTRNand.
Press any button to shutdown.

With the microSD card, the 2DSXL boots into luma fine, but cannot go into GodMode9 normally. Godmode9 does work if you press START 3 times while in luma.
I followed the guide by sthetix but it doesn't boot into the home screen after I followed the steps.

I'm pretty sure that the CFW inside the 2ds is messed up
I also never made a nand backup because I was dumb.
I have tried Almost everything.
Please help or comment if you have any suggestions
Thanks

Please backup the NAND now. Yes, a bricked state is still worth backing up.
Please stay away from YouTube or any other video guides.

Questions:
  • What did you do before this happened?
  • Are the drives SysNAND CTRNAND, SysNAND TWLN and SysNAND TWLP present in GodMode9?
    • If so, are the normal files and folder present on CTRNAND?
  • Did you already attempt CTRTransfer?

Answers:
  1. I'm pretty sure that I was having a seperate CFW problem before. I followed someone's advice (stupidly) and I think that some of the files on the 2DSXL are corrupted/missing/damaged.
  2. All of the drives that you listed are there
  3. Yep I have attempted a normal one and one through CTRTransfer Type D9
