Hi fellow Switch users!
Hope you're all enjoying your new console!

Prior to selling my Wii U last year, I was using Loadiine and Tubehax DNS to block updates.
Since then that system has really been opened up!

Now that the Switch has seen some progress in the Hacking & Homebrew scene, can I run Tubehax DNS to again block updates? If I use the same address, will that still work?

I've seen some other releases - DNSSwitch4All, etc - are these the alternative to Tubehax now?

Basically, I'm after something nice and simple while we patiently wait for the good stuff to start appearing.

Thank you in advance.

Tube Hax was always shit.
Nintendo Switch still uses the same DEV 3,
So If you want to block Switch Updates "Set your DNS to the Nintendo Development server at 205.166.76.187" -x
[Tested and confirm working]

DNSwitch4All will work like tubehax and block updates.

Seriously, I checked what network this IP is from, and the answer is that it is owned by NoA (btw the NERD research department also has an IP from that network).
Just a question: How did you find it ?

EDIT: Now I understand it's Ryan. + no there isn't any switch dev3 server, I think they changed DNS or use another prefix

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
