do you have any other methods to load backups? i pulled my ps1/ps2 out the garage last month and tried burning games and none of them worked. i wasn't sure if it was the brand i was using, my CD/DVD writer, if my laser was just dying or if i was just burning it wrong. Eventually i pulled out my old windows XP pc with a 8x burner and i used a Taiyo Yuden brand and it worked. If you have a way to play backups on your PS1 such as doing the swap method, i suggest doing that to see if it's a issue with your CDs. Eliminate the potential problems and narrow it down until you pinpoint the issue

What speed are you burning at?
Did you verify the burn?
Do burnt audio CDs work?
Which game(s) are you trying to run?

Are you using an NTSC-J or the earliest model of NTSC-U? They don't have the backdoor command to disable region checks, so Tonyhax doesn't work.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.
