Hey, so recently I learned all about the awesomeness of USB loaders. I loaded up all my Wii games to my HD and they worked flawlessly. Then I decided I wanted to play a Gamecube game, so I read the tutorial and did everything including installing DIOS MIOS. I loaded up Time Splitters to a formated Fat32 with 32 clusters USB, and I was able to play through the entire game flawlesly, then I proceeded to put Crystal Chronicles on the USB... the game plays fine for a bit, but for some reason, when opening the game menu it will just freeze! It is always on the same menu, and that menu is critical for playing the game... So I thought, oh well maybe this game is not compatible, I already had a DVD backup of it so I popped that in, now for some reason it will not read the gamecube DVD backups, initially it would show the DIOS MIOS logo, and then it will show an error message something like "Fatal error the app is zero" , forgot to write it down accurately since I thought the error would be the same every time...but now I dont even get an error, just black screen, all DVD launchers just freeze.

So have I locked myself from playing DVDS?

Why could be the problem that causes the game to freeze, considering that Time Splitters worked perfectly?

BTW I was using the Gameboy Advance on the second slot to use as a map, so I dunno if that even matters.

Thanks a lot for the help....

BTW forgot to mention.. I am putting my Gamecube games on the USB stick since I have to format it, and I didnt want to format my 1 Terrabyte HD just to play a few games, has there been a way to play Gamecube games off a HD without formatting?

usb should be formatted fat32
use "nintendont" dios mios is soo old school

Ugh this website looked me out of my account for no reason and had to make new one...

Anyways, like I said formatting my Hardrive is not an option, as I have a lot of data in it, pretty sure its fat32 just not formatted with 32 clusters tho...

And idk what nintendont is? I dont even know what DIOS MIOS is lol... I just installed it so I could run GC games, can I install nintendont on top of what I have or do I need to unistall DIOS MIOS?

Holy crap don't install stuff if you don't know what your doing... Nintendont is just an app (emulator). No other installs needed.

Dios Mios is a replacement for the mIOS, which is a special IOS slot used for Gamecube playback. The mIOS puts the Wii into a Gamecube compatibility mode. Nintendont, on the other hand, is an app that you run just like any other app and doesn't overwrite the console's mIOS. It allows you to run Gamecube games while the console is still in Wii mode, too, making it a more capable tool as well.

Well I read that I could revert back to the regular RVL-mios-v10, I downloaded the wad and installed, now the Wii resets itself everytime after it loads the disc for some reason, so I am even worse now >_<

I tried using Nintedont, but USB launcher does not even reconize it (yes I did go to loader settings and chose it) even tho I followed the tutorial fully and put the folder for it in apps, making sure it was called boot.dol on a folder name nintendont, I tried running Nintendont directly but it just says "Failed to load Kernel from NAND"

I am completly lost on what to do! ;_;

Update: So whatever error Nintendont was giving me, was fixed after updating to Wii system 4.3 (I was using original system menu). The problem is that now when I run Crystal Chronicles from the USB, it shows the first title screen and then shuts down my Wii... it is even worse than DIOS MIOS which at least let me play for a bit.

So I made no progress today at all :(

Update for anyone who may have this problem in the future:

So apparently when I "Installed" with DMToolbox, I did not choose RAW which compressed the iso and led to Nintendont crashing, I redid the instalation and now the game loads fine, only problem is that nintendont does not support GBA-connector, and Crystal Chronicles is one of those rare few games that used that gimick, I could play through the entire game fine but I would be at a handicap, I believe it was the GBA connector that was making DIOS MIOS crash. But at least now I can play Gamecube games off USB again.

I will make a separate thread about how to be able to play DVD back ups again, since its a different topic.

There is no point in modifying GC disc images. They cannot be more than ~1.4GB anyway and processing them with any utility can only lead to problems. Just dump the disc, check the hash and go. :)

It's important for society to be healthy and educated. If those things can't happen because all of the institutions that prop up those industries make it unattainable for all but a small portion of society, then your society is largely going to be disease ridden, dying, and uneducated in very short order.

I agree it's not easy for the average American, let alone the ones below that average. Free / cheaper healthcare is much more important I think than free university education.
Of course like @mthrnite said, why not both. But I doubt both will get solved at once, and surely healthcare is top priority.

Although diet is largely education, people don't need to go to university to learn what's healthy and what's not,
it's the whole country, big corporations and advertising that is to blame for leading most of the population to believe that poptarts and froot loops are healthy to feed a child

As someone who went through the grade school system in the US some time within the past 30 or so years, not nearly enough is done to promote and educate on how to eat healthy in a way that is feasible to do on a regular basis and also affordable. Eating healthy is, comparatively, fucking expensive. So is eating unhealthy, but in many cases eating unhealthy is more affordable than eating healthy
