My 3DS screens are all covered in smudges. Anyone know of a good way to clean them off? I've used a micro-fiber cloth, but it just leaves more smudges. Will a monitor micro-fiber cloth and LCD screen cleaner be enough and not damage the screen? I still have nightmares of using Windex on my original GBA : shivers:/

You guys are doing better then I am. I'm using the cleaning cloth that came with in the Pokemon HG/SS accessory pack. It cleans the big smudges off, but you can still see streaks going vertically or horizontally (depending on what direct you rub cloth). I'll hit Nintendo's tech support site tomorrow to see if they have the "proper" way to clean the screens listed anywhere.

Whoa, that's kind of scary because I use the exact same thing, and the box is right next to my laptop.

How does everyone get the dirt out from the edges of the touch screen? I was thinking I might try a cotton bud and hope it picks that stuff up.

I have some of these from a long time ago....they are really awesome! They work great, and it's a lot of wipe things for a low price...I just don't remember the exact price.

I keep a glasses cleaning cloth between the top and bottom screen when it's closed, it prevents the normal marks that come from the bottom screen's borders touching the top screen. I use the same cloth to wipe smudges, seems to work perfectly.

That's what I do but I have a habit of using my fingers instead of the stylus for stuff for most games that don't need precision. I'm going to try and swing by Walmart today after work and see if I can find those wipes. What department are they in?

I work in an optical lab, so have easy access to a multitude of cleaning cloths- I use the small one from my blackberry torch between the screens when I close it as it is about the right size.
For the edges of the touchscreen I use the cloth over a fingernail and run it round the edge.
Not many smudges on mine have survived being breathed on- I nearly licked one but realised I didn't know what it was

I found some Lenscrafters Pre-Moistened Lens Towelettes while doing some cleaning today. Anyone know if its a good idea to use them on the 3DS or any other portable system? Again, Id rather not run destroy the screen like I did my poor poor GBA.

Most modern lenses are plastic so I would assume them to be safe with the 3DS's plastics. Check to make sure there is no ammonia, though.

That is what Im worried about. Sadly, nothing on the package indicates if there is or is not ammonia. Might go by Lenscrafters and ask them. I have to go to the mall tomorrow anyway. If they work really well, I'll buy the lens cleaners RoMee mentioned. Found them 50 pack at Wal-Mart for $3.

I usually do that, but for some reason I end up pushing the dirt and oil into the edges of the screen where its hard to get out.
