I tried the unlock limit and it was working for 2 weeks on my mariko switch but today I noticed that it’s not working and I’m stuck with 460 gpu again is there a fix

So I have a pixel 2 XL adapter which I saw a graph that it says "best" for a 3rd party adapter, that switch can draw power around 18W from it. It has 5V/3A AND 9V/2A. I was wondering if I could safely overclock the GPU above 768 on handheld and plugged

921 aint a good idea but without any cpu oc it should be fine. id say 844 1.2 is the highest before things start going sideways

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

and no, 18w on a board that at most was meant for 15 isn't a good idea at ALL

Should I not 921 even when docked? I was maxing all GPU CPU and MEMORY while docked and I was seeing 55 to 56 C degrees. is that dangerous?

the thing isn't temps, as the cooling can take 2.6/1.2/2.1 on erista, but the problem is power draw, 18W on a board that at the most was made for 15 isn't a good idea. 921 is 921, docked or not docked isn't going to do anything

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

like yeah, the soc is fine with it but the board wasn't made for it

Oh sorry my idiocity. So 921 gpu draws around 18W correct? and thus OCing it to 921 on erista which has a 15W board can be dangerous. So far I got it right I assume. Well I would normally drop it to 844 as you mentioned above but damn that fenyx rising game is so under 30fps constantly lol

as i said, 921 is EHH? but without cpu oc it should be fine
Thanks for all the info! And for the final time as you mentioned docked or not docked even if its the official charger (which is what I use for docked) it doesn't matter because of erista's board? Well at least now I know what can go wrong. Thanks a lot!

yeah, dont use 921 with cpu oc, 844 with 1.2 might be fine, and 768 with 1.4 or 1.5 is good but after that it starts escalating fast

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

on mariko yea its safe to go to 1.9 1.267 2.1
i think someone got gpu to 1344 and cpu to 2061 and ram to 2.1 but ehh, idk about power draw at that point

So apparently at least on Immortals Fenyx Rising, the game runs smoother with 768 gpu than 921. Much smoother

even with 921, 1326 still in some area constanly dips below 30
from 768 to 921 you got 15% more fps, and draw more than 20% of power

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

hope new soc switch at 7nm, room for gain really lot

and also some of nintendo's first party games
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
some of the best selling games on the switch are wii u ports (that are priced way too high
like come on 60 for a game thats a decade old??)

@ColdBlitz, i forgot breath of the wild released for the Wii u
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
$60 for a game that's a decade old might be unheard of on PC but actually is not uncommon on consoles

especially Nintendo because they only ever lower the price of games when they do a greatest hits/platinum hits/players choice re-release
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@The Real Jdbye, and the HD collections released for 7th gen consoles too
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but they don't seem to have done any of those for the switch yet and maybe never will
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
I think we all forgot breath of the wild released for the wii u tbh
    +1
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@The Real Jdbye, tbh the HD collections are more justified since they include more than just 1 game per copy
