On V1, when upgrading my stock switch firmware, I only have to reactivate the autoboot into rcm in hekate.

How is it on the oled switch? Can I always update the stock firmware without fear? Will that autoboot into the glitch always work?

Glitch will always work. It‘s a hardware bug that can’t be patched. So much so that on V3 Ninty hardware engineers knew they were beat so they physically moved some things around and tried to hide a critical solder point by not extending it out from underneath the chip. It didn’t work and people figured out how to get back under the chip and activate the hardware bug…again. You are safe to update FW after the requisite Atmosphere CFW is released.

Thanks for interpreting correctly…android.ini is what I was actually after. (Was thinking maybe it got overwritten in hekate_ipl.ini but that’s clearly not going to be the case.)

Does everything look good in /switchroot/android? coreboot.rom is intact?

Next we need to look at partitions using something like AOMEI or EaseUS. Make sure all the partitions are intact. Please post a screenshot of your partitions.
Thx for your help, really appreciate it :)

Here are some Screenshots of my Partitions, Switchroot folder etc.
I'm using DBI to navigate through my SD Card btw.

Thanks! Your filesystem Looks good. Need to see your android partitions to make sure they are still intact.

Wow.. I'm pretty sure I made an extra partition for Android. But seems like I'm having it all on my SD card..

Would you recommend to clear my whole SD Card and set it all up again, with an extra partition for android? :/ Wish there would be a workaround to make android boot again. Cause everything else just works fine.

Android is the orange in the first screenshot. The second screenshot is asking what you would like to make it in the future…Hekate doesn’t show current In the second window. Only first. Very tricky.

Hekate works but it is a very simple partition manager. EaseUS or AOMEI will show more detail but I think, seeing the orange, we can assume your partitions are OK.

How much do you have installed and customized on your Android system?

This Maintenance Mode fix works to remove the "Ready to start system update" message, but it comes back. I'm not sure what triggers it to come back (sleep mode perhaps, or just a certain length of time)

Is there a way to permanently get rid of this message?

Also, it seems that the 90DNS method does not work to block a system update - I tested this on my clean Switch, using 163.172.141.219 and 207.246.121.077 as the IP addresses. Does anyone know why this may be?

Thanks

If you’re up to date on Atmosphere you can do the following: https://gbatemp.net/threads/switch-noob-paradise-ask-questions-here.488277/page-1518#post-9755399

This is to set up dns:mitm (and blank out Prodinfo using exosphere)

you can test before and after using 90DNS Tester (link in my sig)

Hello so I was downloading games on gold leaf and I was about to play Kirby, I accidentally clicked update software (or game I don’t remember) and in a panic before it could update I pulled out my micro SD card now every time I try to run atmosphere it tells me “Unable to identify package 1” I have all the newest sigs, atmosphere, and hekate. I’m using a FAT32 Sd card.

Things I tried to do to fix it
1.) uninstall everything on sd card unformatted and reformatted it back to FAT32 then reinstall everything fresh from atmosphere, hekate, and sigs

2.) same thing as method 1 but this time I turned off autoRCM, and although it did not load atmosphere or anything like that the switch did turn on and was functional but no CFW

If you help me I will love you and appreciate it a lot!

you both need to quit updating your firmware before you know if a cfw is compatible with it. this was a big update, dont expect a atmosphere update for at least a week.

you have updated to the latest 14.0.0. Atmosphere needs to be built to handle the new FW. You will need to wait a few days for it to be released along with new Sigpatches.

Avoiding firmware update nag

If you want to avoid getting the firmware update nag, you should use both of the following methods to block system firmware updates:

I was trying to transfer my save file to my other switch to play at work. But it needed a update or it wouldnt connect to internet.

Is there a way to connect to internet on the switch without updating?

if you mean using the system/save transfer function then no, it needs to be on the latest fw to work. otherwise, both switches would need cfw to use homebrew to swap saves.

A couple question here folks:

For whatever reason, my Switch no longer wants to power on. The screen is completely black, and whenever I attempt to hold the power button, it simply does not want to power on. Does anyone have a workaround for this?

This is ever since my SD Card started playing up on me. The last time we spoke @binkinator suspected my SD Card may be corrupted. If it is corrupted, and I need to start from scratch, how far back do I need to go? Are we talking as far back as having to set up emuNAND with Atmosphere again?
