As I said, if your console is patched, then the firmware is irrelevant as the exploit is based on the hardware of the console.

emuMMC is short for emulated eMMC. The eMMC is the internal memory of your console and what it runs on. Terms such as "sysNAND" or "emuNAND" are not technically correct as the Switch does not use a NAND chip so the correct terms would be sysMMC and emuMMC but to keep things simple, emuNAND and emuMMC are interchangeable.

You do install CFW on the Switch. CFW is merely ran from the SD card when you launch a payload from RCM. You will understand more of what I'm talking about once you setup CFW. As for the best guide, this is the only one I know of that not only helps you with CFW but also emuMMC.

That jig is fine. There is no "best" jig.

And to repeat myself again, it does not matter whether you use sysMMC or emuMMC for CFW. Its personal preference; there is no right or wrong answer.

You get banned for using CFW and/or homebrew. It does not matter if you own the game or not. Hacking can always lead to a ban.

I have two Switches. One hacked one unhacked. I took my hacked one online for the first time since hacking it to update it. I dont mind particularly if the hacked Switch is banned and Im fully expecting it. Since my Nintendo account is linked to both If it does get banned does Nintendo ban only consoles or eshop accounts? So basically is my unhacked console at serious risk?

Also is there any way to unlink my eShop account from my hacked Switch while still keeping my legitimate eshop games playable?

EDIT: Ive used Edizon to cheat offline but 90dns was always enabled. The only thing I did while online was update the console and a few pirated games updated as well (Before I enabled 90DNS again).

Firstly, you should never post your full serial online or anywhere else. It is not necessary and you risk leaking your console's private information to other people.

Secondly, if your console is unpatched, then your firmware is irrelevant as the exploit used is based on the hardware of the console. This exploit requires you to insert a piece of metal or something conductive into your right Joy-Con rail to put the console into RCM in order to hack it. On eBay, jigs can be found if you do not have anything conductive at home.

Thirdly, emuMMC is running a copy of your console from an SD card. This can be used to help stave off bans as emuMMC acts like a second console without actually owning one. It does not matter if you use CFW on sysMMC or emuMMC as long as the one where you use CFW does not go online.
Depends. Sometimes the games will still work without the updates, other times the games will ask for updates but still allow you to play them, and there are times where they will not launch without an update.

is there a way to bypass the forced update to play a non-updated game? I ask because there are games that don't have there cheats updated to their latest build.

I tried to downgrade the frameware, turns out that only the Emu CFW downgraded but the OFW is still 9.0.1. -_-

I understand that emu and sys are separate, but if I want to use checkpoint and PkHex for Pokemon how do I carry changes over to sys? Also, for using PkNX, when I'm using Lockpick to dump the prod.keys, do I want to dump the sys or emu? Right now, my emu doesn't have my games or their DLC/patches downloaded and I believe we shouldn't go online on emu if we want to avoid to a ban?

So i bought a switch, but its on 9.0.1 it is hack-able, its arriving in a few days was just wondering how would i go about installing incognito due to college network blocking the 90dns server (no online at all.) Would i use the rcm injector method for installing it?

hi, I didn't want to update God Eater 3 from v2.0.0 for cheats, and the game force to update the game with no option to launch it without update, so I used Tinfoil to reset the the requirement for update, and it worked. Alas, Edizon no longer show cheats for v2.0.0, and I made sure the Build ID is the same. What should I do? I even uninstalled the game with update and re-install them again.
In fact since it was the only game on the SD I formatted the SD, and install everything form scratch, and no use.

EdiZon is weird. It says there's cheats for my game (which has never been updated) but not for the build ID. Which is very odd. There's only one BID of this game.

Nope. Every update has build id. Make sure the cheat name match the your game build ID (not title ID). God Eater 3 has several updates for example, each with its own build ID.
Use nightly build of Edizon, it will show you your game build ID

I found the problem, apparently the txt file was unreadable, when I tried to access the txt file using Goldenleaf, I could only view as hex file and not txt file, so I replaced the txt file with a new one, and it worked. Weird

Nope since the only way to do that would be with homebrew applications.

Nintendo primarily bans consoles, not accounts. I can even count the number of account bans on one hand.

Downgrade your sysMMC then.

You would have to use a save manager homebrew tool such as EdiZon or Checkpoint to dump and restore the save files. And I believe your other questions were answered in another thread.

Yes as long as you have a clean dump of your NAND prior to running Atmosphere.

you said that the message you receive everytime is "It says there's cheats for my game (which has never been updated) but not for the build ID" that means there is mismatch between the game build ID and cheat txt name, so what you said "it matches" is contradictory. I had this problem before, and I solved it by matching the right cheat txt.
