Games Done Quick returns for their Summer event, hoping to raise money for charity through donations made during video game speedruns. This is the twelfth Summer Games Done Quick event, and will be the first one to return to being an in-person event since 2019. Last year, SGDQ managed to raise $2.9 million dollars for Doctors Without Borders, while its winter equivalent, Awesome Games Done Quick's 2022 event set a record for the most money raised for charity at $3.4 million. Summer Games Done Quick 2022 starts at 11:30 CST, and will feature speedruns of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening Remake, Sonic Advance, a Pokemon Emerald randomizer, Mass Effect, and more.

TGH on Link's Awakening, bound for greatness. This man broke pretty much every Zelda game he has touched...

Cool, I might actually try to tune in this year at some point. Tried to watch these last few years and I dunno, it’s not as entertaining without the live audience for some reason.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.
