If you dump your NAND from sysNAND with already having redNAND will it just overwrite?

Also if you dump from your redNAND will it overwrite as well?

Can windisk32 rip the redNAND partition and allow to to write it to another SD card to have multiple redNAND SD cards without having to re-dump?

Yes, the redNAND currently on your SD Card will be overwritten. If you are using Dimok's new dumper, that is impossible to perform, as the launcher will find a redNAND on your card and just boot it.

The CFW Booter actually reboots the IOSU, so by doing this you are actually exiting redNAND, and then immediately re-entering it.

I'm not entirely sure. It depends on whether the program can perform a raw dump of your SD Card, and not just specific partitions. redNAND is not a partition, so most software won't pick it up, but will allow you to format/re-partition your FAT32 partition on top of your redNAND, corrupting it.

Do you know/test any free software that can perform the raw dump you mentioned ?

I have a few questions about redNAND I hope someone can answer.

1. I have a few disc titles installed on the Wii U's internal memory. If I don't unlink my NANDs, and install some DLC for any of the games in redNAND, what happens if I boot the game in sysNAND?

2. If I do unlink my NANDs, when I go to reinstall my disc titles in redNAND, where do they go? Are they stored to the SD card, internal memory, or am I required to have an external HDD?

3. If I wish to stop using redNAND, can I just format my SD card with any ole' software, or will I need to do something special?

Okay i dunno where is the right thread but i just leave here this info: If you installed (example) Mario Kart 8 DLC in redNAND with fake ticket you can use the DLC within the sysNAND too. Just tested and worked. (I installed it to an USB drive)
do you have the tik file for this please? is it for EUR?

@FIX94 Installing DLCs (eShop or WUPInstaller/SystemConfigTool) on NAND (Not USB) then restarting the console disables the DLCs!
(The DLCs are not deleted (You can still find them with wupserver), but they are disabled and do not work)

It's definitely a bug in redNAND.

With IOUS access and RedNAND available, does anyone know if there is a save manager in the works? I know we have Saviine, which is GREAT, but with complete access to the system, I'm hoping to be able to backup/restore all saves without using a computer. Thanks to all who are working hard on the Wii U Homebrew scene!

System Config Tool has a Save Data Manager that allows exporting to the SD card. I haven't tested to see if it works or not though.

Just thought I would ask for an update. Has there been any confirmation about unlinking nands yet and having an external HDD connected and games on them? is there a work around yet or will they still go on systemnand.

I noticed that after setting up redNAND, that the Windows disk manager recognizes the space taken up by redNAND as Unallocated.

My question is, would it be safe to just format the SD if I decided I didn't want to use redNAND anymore? Will I need a special tool, or can I just use the build-in Disk Manager?

If you no longer wanted redNAND a simple format with disk management will remove redNAND.

Alright, thank you. :)

Last redNAND question for a while.

Now that I have setup redNAND on my SD card, if I leave my sysNAND and redNAND linked, will titles installed on sysNAND in the future work in redNAND, or would I have to make a completely new redNAND setup in order to get the title working on redNAND?

(Sorry if that's confusing.)

From what I've seen, it depends.
For USB installed titles, from what I can tell if they are "legit" titles (the Brazilian hacker method) will show up and work on both sysNAND and redNAND. With linked NANDs, some titles seem to show up on both while others don't. A majority of them shouldn't show up on both, but there apparently are a few cases where they do.
I would recommend unlinking NANDs. Even if no issues have currently been found, it may come up later that having them linked causes some issue.

Also for anyone who wants to know my working redNAND fw.img has an MD5 of a291c91ba067113c4ae738b6946b4eec
Just in case you find a precompiled online you should get that MD5 for this version of the NAND Dumper + redNAND. If not I wouldn't really trust it

I just set up rednand and unlink the sysnand now I can not see my usb games nor the usb drive, I think I need to format the hdd and reinstall all the games in rednand
