that is not the point.Eckin said:Both handhelds and home consoles have their own merit, some things work better on the go, some things work better on your couch. I see no reason to "give up" on either!
... and fighting games aren't the same thing when you play on a handheld!
You have to imagine the handheld as a console.
It would have wireless controllers on their own. So basically you would put it on a dock that is connected to the TV and then you would have DualShock3 controller pair with the dock.
If it had wireless HDMI it wouldn't even need a dock at all and you would pair controllers with the handheld directly.
So you could still play fighting games with arcade stick even with another player in your room.
The cool thing is if you need to go somewhere you could just unplug the handheld and play the game on-the-go.
Of course the problem here is graphic power. If the PS4 is a handheld, people would be expecting a more powerfull device than the PS3.
That's not very difficult seeing as the current development is going further in smaller, less power hungry graphic chips and CPU because of Smartphones.
The thing i am concerned about is backwards compatibility with PS2 and PS3 games. I hope that if Sony is really going in the handheld direction they will not forget past Playstation titles.
