Hello everyone!
I need help.I really want to translate a couple of games to my old Nintendo DS and start with at least one, but I absolutely don't know how to do it.Everything would be simple, but I want to translate into Russian, and I don't know anything about which programs should be used and what problems arise in this complex process (fonts, hacking)
For admins: I'm sorry if such a question has already been in some topic, I will be glad if you direct me to where it has already been discussed.

I have a guide to such things

https://www.romhacking.net/start/ and ROM hacking guides in general work here.

Cyrillic letters can make life a bit harder as you are almost sure to have to edit the font where a lot of the time Japanese* to English and English -> most European efforts can do well enough. There is a font format Nintendo provided but many many devs did their own things.

*a lot of Japanese fonts will feature ancient Greek letters so you can sort of bodge something together and call it Cyrillic but it is usually not the nicest font they used for it.

There are some Russian forums and teams out there, often doing very good work.
http://www.magicteam.net/ is more tools and a few translations but their Oriton and Kruptar tools ( https://romhack.github.io/doc/kruptarPlugins/ ) are one of the main things to rival Atlas and Cartographer on text extraction and insertion. I don't know what goes for gbx.ru these days but they had some good stuff back when.
