Could the 2203s be something to do with the SD card? That's really the only thing that's changing between users; I've seen tons of people running the exact same RPXes as each other with different results. It lines up with my understanding of what the error actually means; and explains why the channel helps (retroarch.rpx is embedded, so one less thing is loaded off the SD; thus one less opportunity for error). Thoughts? This is just an idea at this point (I don't have any evidence to back it up) but I think it could explain why certain users almost continually get errors.
That got me thinking.. So I tried loading the Cores from USB instead of SD...
And so far I havent had any errors.. Maybe a fluke, need more people to test. but so far so good.

Unrelated to Wii U 160 memory errors, but ISI, DSI pop up sometimes, during my test I found that closing content before swapping cores decrease the errors quite considerably, would it be possible to force close content when exchanging cores?

Yes I loaded/reloaded lots of times.
The only issue I had was from loading the Gensplus Core. (Black Screened) but no error codes ;)

Huh, I got that with the FBA core the other day (well five days ago or so), USB I'm wary about a bit, not sure how stable as I've never tested, but I guess I could XD

Well if you or anyone else wants to test just copy over the Retroarch folder to a usb drive, plugit in then load the Channel/App as usual and change the core directory to usb in directory settings :)

OK for some reason transferring the retroarch files over through FTP got retroarch booting again. I can now enjoy my classic games again!

Wait, how did you do it?
Its actually really easy
You can get the OGG files for free from the Steam page of Quake.
The downloaded compressed files (zip or whatever) already have the folder structure needed for it to work with TyrQuake.
  • id1/music/
  • hipnotic/music/
  • rogue/music/
Obviously inside the id1, hipnotic and rogue folders goes the .pak files, while inside /music/ goes all the OGG files, starting with the track02.ogg name until track11.ogg for id1 and track09.ogg for the other two I believe.

You're welcome!
I've been waiting fir years to play Quake with the Nine Inch Nails' cacophony playing in the background, and now it's a reality!

One thing though, do you happen to experience like some sort of hiccups during playtime?
Like clicks or something in the music? Or is it just me?
Also, did you try with the MP3 or OGG files?

Again you get what you pay for, its like buying a S series for $300 but its only 1440p native, if you want true 4k, gotta get the X model for $500. But yea you right, when moms buying it anyways, you gotta stay cheap.

They could use HD out on their TV no real need for a monitor these days tbh the purists will disagree

I'm kind of phasing out on the need for wanting all these consoles cool to have but they just become dust build ups
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I here ya there, I have too many myself, and have hard time letting them go, since most of mine I've modded at some point. Anymore I just play Switch on the go, seriesx at home.

I'm designing my own entertainment cabinet for my man cave, to store all my systems, then I'm also designing a power supply/HDMI switcher so I can switch to whichever system I want, and power it also. Already picked up the cabinet board, but tinkering with my drawings before start
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
But yea, I have frogger arcade cabinet that I gutted and put a Pi4 then Pi5 into, but it never gets played much anymore, should sell it. Even when the kids come over, they don't want to play on it, just the xbox. TMNT and Simpson's arcade is still so fun on it, esp w 2 players.
