So i need to COPY and put the roms in data/ and not data/retroarch/playlist? (anyway from here Snes and Gba games works...). And i need to COPY only the rom, not the folder? (usually i put the rom in a folder with the name of the game). Or i need to put the roms in another folder created, this is what you tell me?

Make sure you have VitaShell V1.2
Use only UX0:/Data folder
Make folders in above
e.g FBA SNES PSX etc

For FBA copy neogeo.zip into FBA folder and make sure that the Neogeo.zip is a complete set.
For all other bios place in UX0:/Data/Retroarch/System

VitaShell V1.2 now has a select all for multiple file move and copy

To get Vitshell V1.2 if your still on 0.95 is to uninstall it and the henkaku installtion and start again.
It will install the new version now off the website.

I use Filezilla to transfer files . It's reliable and works. Just takes some time.

For those curious: Street Fighter EX Plus Alpha works at about 45 FPS at default settings... playable, but slightly chuggy. Turn frameskip to 1 and it becomes extremely playable. I can't wait to see later versions of this Playstation emulator.

I 'unno. I'm not a fan of Mortal Kombat. However, I think there was a port of MK2 for the Playstation that was pretty good, just in case anyone was dying to play that game.

I've found a core specific bug in Snes9x 2005 (not plus) on the Vita. When I load up Super Mario All-stars + Super Mario World or Super Mario All-stars; the Super Mario 1 game opens but input isn't accepted. Input is accepted in all other games and they work well. The Super Mario 1 game in the ROMs I mentioned runs without any issues in SNES 9x v0.4.2 Mod 26 in VHBL

Thanks,
Aurora

This is an age-old well known bug that affects all versions of CATSFC, even non-libretro versions.

Go to Core Options and enable Swap Controllers. Then it will work.

I'm experiencing wired issue with the latest nightbuilt

I've successfuly installed the emulators that I want to have but it's doesn't show up the folder that I've created in ux0:/data/roms any other folder is visible!!??

I've tried to create a new folder and move the roms to it but still invisible

I've tried to delete the configuration file inside retroarch folder and it still the same

Any thoughts?

Thanks

This happened to me and one particular file. What I did was recopy my rom over, from my PC, and that seemed to do the trick.

I only just realized today this thread was featured in the latest Wololo article.
Safe to say, personal hype intensifies.

Anywhoozle, off to updating the thread (Again) and getting this installed for myself.

*5 minutes later*

All I have is Megaman X4 to test (For now anyways, because of previous space concerns), and that ran absolutely perfectly with stock, out-of-the-box settings.

Safe to say, much better than the N3DS (Which got about ~30-45fps on the same title).

Is there any specific file type for PCSX Re-ARMed? I downloaded Crash Bandicoot 3 as a BIN/CUE (2 seperate files) and Retroarch doesn't pick them up in my ROMs folder, nor anywhere else I place them. I then also tried the "don't filter file types" toggle switch, but unfortunately no dice there either...

Will ECM files work? They're the only PSX ISO types I haven't tried up to now, to my knowledge. Cheers!

Works fine for me.
I have no idea what's going on with this sudden filesystem issue, but I personally left files in .../retroarch/ROM/(SystemAcronymHere)/. Sooo...

A small note regarding PCSX.

While it worked fine for the game I tested, after taking a system snapshot [Shown below] (Presumably while it was writing the actual image to the MC), the emulator... stopped, for a good second. But continued onward just fine.

So, um, yeah; the Vita MC's access speeds are shit. But that's of little surprise by now.

.ecm files do not work with this emulator, you'll have to unpack them into a .bin file for them to load.

.ECM files, for note, NEVER once worked; it's explicitly used as a file compression format for faster network transfer speeds (Read, small filesize outputs), and that's it. You'll find an unpacker around Google somewhere, but it'll be a bit to find one that's reliable; preferably one that's a command-line drag'n'drop program.
Recommended to use .bin/.cue combos, or .IMG and/or .ISO images.

Huh; I'm still recieving "no items" in my /retroarch/ROM/PSX/ folder...
I don't know if it's relevant or not (you seem to have a better knowledge for Retroarch than me lol), but could it be because I'm using an unstable nightly? (I happened to download the latest nightly there possibly is, as of typing)

  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
never had that i don't think
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
  • DinohScene @ DinohScene:
    run h2testw on it

when SD cards/microSD write speeds drop below a meg a sec, they're usually on the verge of dying

Samsung SD format can sometimes fix them too
  • Purple_Heart @ Purple_Heart:
yes looks like an faulty sd
  • Purple_Heart @ Purple_Heart:
@Psionic Roshambo i may try that with my dead sd cards

    It's always worth a shot

@The Real Jdbye, I considered that, but i'll have to wait until i can get the eu version in the mail lol
