Hello,

I will report two issues and a final question:

In RetroArch for Nintendo 3DS XL (USING LUMA CFW LATEST UPDATED ON MAY 2020), I've detected two problems: save states and custom aspect ratio.

I am using the cap32 core included in STABLE retroarch for 3ds, the latest version at 06/24/2020: retroarch 1.8.9
The core included in the stable version is Caprice32 "1.8.9 - cap32 (4-5 2fe00ca L0)" (The same problems happens in the nightly build of caprice32)

FIRST ISSUE: States: the SAVE state seems to work but every time I choose LOAD state, it crashes:

"An exception occurred" (in red letters)

Processor: Arm11 (core 0)
Exception type: data abort
Fault status: Permission - Section

(And the Stack dump appears on the lower 3ds' screen)

(The load state feature works on the other existing CPC core, CrocoDS, but I don't want to use it because the framerate is slow as hell with the video Vertical Sync on, and if I turn off it, the screen flickers and is a pain for the eyes. The sound is buggy there, too...)

SECOND ISSUE:

If I choose Aspect ratio Custom, the emulator starts correctly, but if after that I choose to load content (i.e. a .dsk game), the upper screen is BLACK and nothing appears there.

BUT, if I choose the aspect ratio = Core provided, then the game loads correctly, and then, if (with the game running) change again the aspect ratio to custom, it works !!!

So the problem seems to happen when aspect ratio is selected initially, because it works when you change it when the game is already running.

QUESTION(s):

The included retroarch cap32 core in the latest retroarch for 3ds (stable and nightly, i.e. from https://buildbot.libretro.com/stable/1.8.9/nintendo/3ds/) includes the latest changes in the code from github's project ?
Where can I download the latest compiled version OF THE CORE in cia version FROM THE WEB ? Is there a buildbot website that includes the 3ds cap32 core latest version ? or is only the buildbot.libretro.com the only option ?

Is there a chance that some developer fixes the two issues ?

VERY Thanks in advance for your attention and patience

These are the last log lines, where you can see how I save the state, and then I try to load it: the log just ends abruptly:

Hi - Exactly the same problem with loading state - did you ever resolve it? (I'm going mad - no point in starting Spellboud Dizzy without being able to save and load:)

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Booo.

same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
