So, I just tried to play a legit retail GameCube game on my Wii for the first time... but as soon as I put the GC Game in the drive, the system menu freezes. I've tried 3 different GC games, but they all do the same thing. For the heck of it, I installed DIOS MIOS and ripped the games to my USB hard drive... but even DIOS MIOS freezes at the splash screen.

Any ideas as to what is going on and how to fix it?

So it freezes BEFORE you hit Launch?
Yes, I don't even get that far...
The Wii will be sitting on the Home Screen, put a GB disk in and it freezes. I don't even get a chance to click on the disc channel before it freezes.

Are they scratched? for me, that was the problem.
The games are only slightly scratched, but work fine in a Gamecube and my friends Wii... so I don't believe that is the issue.

This shouldn't matter for DIOS-MIOS, but just in case, check what Priiloader hacks you have enabled.
These are the Priiloader hacks I have enabled:
Block Disk Updates
Region Free Wii Games
No System Menu Background Music
No-Delete HAXX, JODI, DVDX, DISC, DISK, RZDx
Remove NoCopy Save File Protection
Region Free Channels
Auto-Press A at Health Screen
Block Online Updates
Replace Health Screen with Backmenu

These are disabled:
Region Free GC Games (No VM Patch)
Lock System Menu with Black Screen
Remove Diagnostic Disc Check
No System Menu Sounds AT ALL
Force Disc Games to run under IOS249
Force Standard Recovery Mode
OSReport to UsbGecko(slot B)
OSReport to UsbGecko(GeckoOS,B)
Move Disc Channel

Disable the following, as they are either unstable or redundant:
  • Region Free Wii Games
  • Remove NoCopy Save File Protection
  • Region Free Channels
  • Auto-Press A at Health Screen

I have disabled these suggested Priiloader settings and also "re-hacked" my Wii with the latest IOSs & DIOS MIOS.
(Apparently there was an update released the same day I posted this and one of the updates was "Fixed a bug which broke retail disc loading")

That being said, I'll chock the problem up to a faulty DIOS MIOS
I will post back if the issue persists after I get a chance to test again.
