So I've been following the tutorial here, which I noticed after backing up my NAND and formatting the card that (it wasn't very clear in the tutorial) they stressed backing up NAND (I did that), but not so much backing up EVERYTHING on your SD card first. So I figured in the next steps we must be resotring that, right? No.

So now I have a NAND backup of everything (tons of ROMS, custom stuff, etc.) and Gateway. I'm restoring it through Gateway Menu's "Restore System Nand" from NAND.bin on my SD root, and the red progress bar goes all the way to "Done!".
But then I restart my N3ds, and looks like nothing happened. Exactly the same as it was before (but not THE "before" that I need).

So where is this process going wrong? The tutorials give like 3 steps at most and make it sound easy as pie if you have a NAND backup.
All help would be greatly appreciated!
