What's new in v2.0.0?
- BRAND NEW UI! This UI uses Citro3D, the system font, colored background, transparent images, etc.

- Ability to initialize the destination Amiibo.

Oh, sorry, it was in this thread so I assumed it was for this app.
This will not change the character that the Amiibo is, just duplicates the data on it. (Like SSB attack value, bonuses, level, etc.)
Yeah, the 3DS can't make a difference between an NTAG215 and a normal Amiibo, if the tag is set up correctly, AFAIK.Reading comments I first thought it will only work on real amiibos ! But I tried it on NTAG215 and it worked just fine !

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.
The issue is DRM -

You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60
