Don't you mean 9.0-9.7? It was only supported on 9.2 and 9.7 before

What's this mean for Ninjhax? It it just a hop/skip/jump away from this exploit? Or are we still locked out? Would love to be able to use Ninjhax/Homebrew/Pasta on my 9.7 N3DS.

I tested it with the absolute latest firmware for USA on the old XL. I don't have any out of region games, but I left Cubic Ninja in the slot and booted it, and it worked just fine!

Kafke, an answer I got for a similar question. Ninjhax still doesn't work on 9.7 by the way.

It's not one exploit, it's multiple in succession. The CN hax are fine and basically can't be patched, but what was used on 9.2 to actually get access to anything cool was.
Hence small, hardcoded homebrews can be done (RegionFOUR) but nothing large (Ninjhax)

I'm confused at what that means though. The CN exploit clearly still is open (as demonstrated by RegionFour). What makes Ninjhax special? Was a particular exploit it relied on patched? How does region four work, if those things were patched?

From what it sounds like, Ninjhax should still be possible, but needs to be recoded in some way in order to work with the new FW. And from the sounds of Smea's twitter, it looks like Ninjhax 2.0 is planned. See here: https://twitter.com/smealum/status/602905203650666496

I just followed his twitter an hour ago or so and saw that. Really looking forward to that since I had never had the chance since I had my 3DS updated before actually giving the CN exploit a shot.
