Nice job, now all we need is a way to access other region e-shops.
I.E.: Accessing Japan e-shop on a US Console.
That would be something great, so many games have dlc now on the eshop.

basically using the gateway launcher.dat as a base to enable region free 3ds games....but not needing a gateway/r4i card

you use this with a standard DS cart to install the hack and you can use retail 3ds games from any region on your 3DS (still needs to be on 4.x to work)

and copy the modified launcher.dat to the 3DS SD card,

you can pretty much follow the gateway turorial. even updating the emunand to 7.1, except you use retail carts instead of the gateway red card

nope this is reliant on the gateway launcher file and is not a new exploit....just edited to accept retail carts, in place of the gateway red card

so 4.x only

one thing i would like to know if anyone has a out of region cart to test on this....is online working for out of region games on this set-up?

It still needs the 4.1-4.5 exploit (that had been patched with the recent updates), so I think it's a no.

emuNAND is basicly your Console saved unto a SD-card.

Which means if something goes wrong nothing happens to your console, just files on a sd-card.
anyway there still no change if i add that loader.dat on my 3ds i can add withouth to fork 4.x im on 7.x after all so im completly sure there alternative ways

So what would the implications be for games that need patches, like Monster Hunter 4? How would a US 3DS' emunand react to attempts to access the Japanese e-shop?

So did the retail cart of Monster Hunter 4 have fully functional online gameplay? If so, that is great news.

That's good to hear. Just out of curiosity though, if a patch or DLC was applied to a Japanese game, where would they be downloaded from. Is downloading DLC for a Japanese retail game even possible?

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

@BigOnYa, why did you start saying my pc has a hamster in the first place?

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
