This is hell. Apologies if this is in the wrong section.
Lately my Wii has been freezing a lot as of late. Its been occuring more since I installed that DVD Installer patch thingy.
Here are a few things that have been happening:

Most of my games have been freezing. Includes Black Ops, World at War, Bully: Scholarship Edition, SSBB, Mario Kart and even some homebrew apps.

Here are some examples of what has been happening over the past week.
Sometimes SSBB just won't start. The Wii reads the disk, but it sometimes freezes while loading. Sometimes it crashes on Stage Selection though.
I was playing World at War on Monday and it crashed when I died. >:(
Black Ops crashed in Zombies, campaign and when loading for Black Ops online.
Mario Kart just froze when searching for opponants on Wi-Fi.
Bully crashed when I hit the Comic Store owner. :/
The Internet Channel froze when I was on a forum. :S
And just, I was listening to 2Pac on WiiMC and it just cut off and froze. No warning.

FYI most of my games are in excellent condition. Just a few fingerprints. I highly doubt one slight fingerprint can cause a whole Wii to stop working. And a Wii channel. And I bought Black Ops brand new last week.

As I mentioned, this has been occuring more and more often since I installed that DVD Player installer thingy. The ones that let you play burnt games on Wii, but it wouldn't work for me.

Any assistence here please?
Is there a way to remove the patch? Or at least stop my damn Wii from crashing?

Thanks in advance.

What's syscheck and could you post a link to it please?
Thanks for quick reply too.

Also I just tried to play Drake - Forever on WiiMC and it froze right before Eminem's verse. Once again cut off without a warning. :(

quick google link.

A wii consists of a bunch of IOS'es (an IOS is basically comparable to somewhat between a PC's BIOS and operating system). As this is the only thing actively running while playing a game, these kind of errors are usually related to them.
Syscheck is a homebrew utility that does a scan of all the IOS'es (and cIOS'es), and puts the output in a file on your SD card. Run it, and then copy-paste the content of that file here.

...because honestly: "DVD installer patch thingy"? Sorry, but it doesn't ring a bell. Please use the real name rather than a vague description. Without knowing what we're dealing with, it'll be rather hard to come up with a solution.

Reason: your wii NEEDS their IOS'es. Not just to run games, but to run things like channels and even the system menu as well. Patches can overwrite these. But if you then go around removing things...well, it's very easy to brick your wii. Hence the request of a syscheck.

Thank you.
The name of the DVD Patch is DVDx Installer 3.4.

When I first installed it, I had no trouble, it's just started happening over the past week. :/
