Hacking R4i Gold 3DS kernel question

I have a 3DS that was updated to Version 5.0.0-11U and I can no longer play my R4i Gold 3DS cart with an older kernel (error screen after attempting to launch the cart from 3DS menu).

I normally would patch the cartridge using my friend's R4 card and DS Lite, but my friend no longer has them.

My question is if there are any alternate ways to patch the kernel of the R4i Gold 3DS card without the need for another DS and R4 card.

Also, does the R4i Gold Plus card allow for patching the kernel through Wi-Fi?

Supercard DSTwo is the only one that can run on the latest 3ds firmware that has an alt feature

other previous cards where
M3i Z-003 & where blocked by 5.0.0-11 and have very little chance of surpassing it due to lack of internal Save IC to pass the latest check

Whoops my bad
R4i Gold Plus uses a PC usb and works on 5.0.0-11
but its card with not great game compatibility

As far as upgrade options, the DSTwo is the best, and is the only cart with alternative update methods that's actually suggested here.
