Gaming Quick question: What is the white stuff in DSL called?

If you open up a DS Lite, some systems have a glob of white clay or something on the motherboard. What is that stuff called?​

Thermal paste? Never opened one up so I don't know for sure, but I'm assuming that's what it would be. Is it on the CPU?

I think that's it. But it's less disgusting-looking than I remember it.

Its thermal paste, right?

Maybe some type of thermal material, but thermal paste is usually used to make the transfer of heat from a chip to a heatsink more efficient. Btw, here's the one I found.

I don't think it is thermal paste. With that amount a thermal paste would have the opposite effect and overheat the chip.

Probably epoxy.
