I'm currently using (or at least trying to) PS3Xpad and it just sucks, maybe its the fact that I have the second revision of the controller and it just doesn't work, besides it looks like many games aren't compatible with it so I'm doing my best to give up.

Is there any adapters of sorts, plugins or whatever to make full use of the Dualshock 4 in a PS3 system? I believe there ARE adapters that make the controller fully compatible with it (including safe mode) but after a quick Google search, I couldn't find anything.

Any suggestions?

Dualshock 4 works on ps3s. Just have the latest Firmware preferably firmware from 2014 and beyond. Plug it on and it will pair.

Else
Here are the steps:

Plug in DS4 controller via USB
Go to Accessory Settings and Manage Bluetooth Devices
Scan for Bluetooth Device
Unplug DS4, press Share and PS Buttons
Once device is found, plug DS4 back in and select Wireless Controller
Congratulations! You now have a rumble-free DS4 working with your PS3!

Thanks but that's the method I've been using and it sucks to high hell.
D-PAD only works in 4 directions, analog sticks work in 8 directions, rumble doesn't work, PS button doesn't work, Sixaxis doesn't work, half of the games don't work with the controller.

So I was going to make a new thread but found this and one other. Is there a better way to do this now?

The native OFW support sucks and I'm trying Ps3xpad but it doesn't seem to work really well either and was least updated 3 years ok.

I want a handheld gaming system with a tablet sized screen, like a 8 or10" screen, with controllers that can detach like the Switch.

I don't see the buzz about a square screen personally. I think there will be a review on the site within a few weeks though if you are interested.

I've put down the money on the Odin 2 Mini since I just love that Vita form factor. Loved the power of the Odin 2 but the size always put me off, this one seems exactly what I've been wanting.

I don't care about the square screen it's just nice to hold something you don't have to stretch your arms a foots length

All these things expecting to be super huge is overrated just run a type c cable to your TV if you want a big display or in my case screen mirror it

On the go tho I meant, I use my 10" tablet and a Bluetooth controller for retro gaming while sitting on my porch or on long car rides sometimes. Easier on my eyes than the Switch screen.

My point is we already have enough shit with big displays having something pocketable with up to ps2 would be fine on the go

Ken unless the games are made for that screen size most suck on a screen that size... Having a square screen and being brighter and higher res helps but it's not a cure all, text is tiny bullets are tiny, your.... Well lol
