Hi all,

I'm attempting a modchip installation on a PS2 slim (70002 model).

I'm following the picture guide found here - (https://quade.co/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/V12-usa.jpg)

However the board I'm working on has the solder mask scraped away to the point where the copper underneath is exposed. I can't place any solder in 4 of the modchip points without causing the whole board to short.

I've tried to add some solder mask and set it with UV light, but I'm not having any success. The points are just so small that I'm finding it impossible.

Does anyone have any advice or are there any other points on the board that I can use as alternatives just for those 4?

I've attached an image to help show my issue.

The points you're mentioning looks like vias -- if they go all the way through the board, you can use the point on the other side.

I'm not familiar enough with the PS2 to know about alternative points, but if you have a multimeter you can check for them using the continuity mode. If none exist, and the vias are not going through the board, you can find them relatively cheap online. There are also softmods like FMCB you can look into if you only want to play backups of your games
