I don't know if it already exists, but here is my suggestion :
I want to play in a 21:9 ultrawide monitor but the game screen is just stretched. I know that in Yuzu there is a mod for some games like BoTW that resizes the screen to 21:9 without stretching it. I would love it in my switch !

Forget about it. Plain and simple. To achieve this you would need to spend similar amount of time was put into making Atmosphere simply because system is not suited for anything else than 720p and 1080p 16:9, but also games are using SDK which was designed only with 16:9 in mind. You would need to reimplement fully some sysmodule(s)

Emulators are using shortcuts that makes such edits much easier to implement.

Is there a homebrew that can disable the side rails temporarily? I want to use my joycons via bluetooth even if it is connected. The controllers keep disconnecting when I am playing.

Another simple solution without any using homebrew is using adhesive tape to cover the pins where joycon connect to the rail.

I think it would be neat if there was a TeslaMenu Overlay that could temporarily disable sleep mode to keep the screen running in idle, similar to those caffeine Quick settings plugins you have on Phones that can keep the screen running, but this case on the Switch with Homebrew.

A long, thin payload injector that adds maybe a cm to the bottom of the switch, but sits flush all the way along the bottom the the screen? Bonus points for USB-C passhthrough so that it can be docked!

Hi! Has anyone suggested that it would be cool to be able to edit retroarch nsp forwarders? Now if i use different core for a game i will need to make a new forwarder everytime so it would be cool be able to edit the corepath for example.

Because of how they are built and encrypted, it makes more sense to make a new one every time - it would be more work to decrypt, unpack, edit, repack and re-encrypt.

HI!
I’ve posted this on the general forum days ago. Now i post it here, which is the appropriate place… :)

(At github) /Samuel85/Abbey

there is a Vita / Android / RG350 port of a good old computer game from the 80s: La Abadia del Crimen / The Abbey of Crime

Does somebody know if there is a Nintendo switch port anywhere?
Could it be possible to adapt the Vita code to create a Switch port?

I have 0 programming skills but if anyone could do it, it would be awesome…

A layout for Nintendo Switch themes that is literally the Wii U's. And a rom forwarder that labels/overlays game icons as virtual console titles.

I would love a wii u styled theme. No bgm is a little sad but the Switch is pretty much 2 Wii U's glued together with a better cpu, so now it can be The WiiUTwo.

Speaking of Wii U-like functionality, how about if you own a Switch Lite (to use as a gamepad) and a overclocked docked switch together, you can use the Switch lite as a screen(content is streamed directly from the overclocked docked switch) and controller. This literally has no actual function as you could just use the Switch as intended, but this might actually be really cool for MM2 level creation.

Not possible. The game doesn't run on the Switch, it runs on someone else's computer, and they can check if you paid for it or not and won't run it for you if you didn't.

Closest thing to a "circumvention" would be to run the game yourself on a PC or PS4 etc, and stream it to your Switch.

Hi!
I wonder if someone could make a port/wrapper of the Android version of Bully, using the Vita wrapper/port code.
(At github: TheOfficialFlow/bully_vita)

As far as I know, It should be a task similar to that of the Max Payne wrapper/port, right? (At Github: fgsfdsfgs/max_nx)

Obviusly, the game can be played on the switch through Android but a HOS port would be awesome!:)

Hello again...
Now I know that Bully and GTA Chinatown Wars can't be easily ported to the Switch because there is no Arm64 code into the Android's version package. There's just Armv7 code... :(

But... I've checked the 2.10 Android version of San Andreas and there's an Arm64-v8 folder in it!
(There isn't any in the aforementioned games).

Does this open a door to a possible port of "old" San Andreas for the nintendo switch?
As with the other Rockstar games, there's a Vita wrapper/port at Github.

Is there a solution for automatically syncing game saves between my switch and ryujinx folder via cloud storage? I only found a tutorial that requires manual backup/restoration of saves in Checkpoint, is there a script that does this automatically?

JKSV can save to Google Cloud, but you have to trigger it inside JKSV to do so, so it’s not automatic.

Is there a homebrew that can remove the 1000 video/10000 screenshot limit per sd card on the switch inbuilt gallery? I think not.

I was thinking that maybe someone could develop a sysmodule that would allow us to continue recording even after hitting the gallery limit which sounds doable but then i noticed that the gallery will still only display the first 1000 videos/ 10000 screenshots in the sd card even if there were more stored. This seems to complicate things as it would require tampering with how the switch validates each img and video before displaying it which seems to be very hardcoded into the os.

So my current idea is to create an app sort of like 3DS Bank which basically allows us to automatically rename or move the original album folder on the SD card so that the switch can create a new fresh album folder allowing us to continue recording new videos/imgs BUT the app should also allow us to “switch” from album folders thus enabling us to continue browsing our old album without needing to turn off the switch and then having to swap sd cards or transfer img/videos to the PC.

Is this homebrew idea feasible to make?

  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
never had that i don't think
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
