I voted Super Mario 3D World but in all honesty that's the one best Wii U game that's unique to the system and should remain exclusive to the Wii U even though I wouldn't mind buying a 1080P version of the game for the Switch because I did not have a Wii U, still the possibility of Super Mario 3D World and Bayonetta 2/1 could still happen after all the Wii U did get Mario Galaxy 1/2 which are considered some of the best games the Wii offered.
Mario 3D World was basically an HD version of Mario 3D Land with new content.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I don't know, since the switch is partially portable ports would be nice to have on it for some people.
Then have it as WiiU VC.

The Wii U got Wii games as Virtual Console titles. Perhaps it wouldn't be too far-fetched to put Wii U ports on the eShop as VC? I just don't think there should be a steady tide of ports, especially if it takes away from the development of other games. But I do agree that there were a lot of gems on the Wii U that not many people got to experience because the Wii U didn't fare too well.

What does it matter if it's a port or a virtual console game? It's the same thing really. Except that a port can have additional functions designed so it works better on the switch. It's not like nintendo sells their VC for cheap.

Precisely. Releasing a "Deluxe" version of every god damn WiiU game would just over-saturate Switch's library and downplay its library.

I voted for tropical freeze. it's my favorite game on the system. I do hope they make a sequel for it. considering the wii-u's poor sales, tropical freeze sold pretty poorly though. I think it was in the 200,000 copies sold range which I guess isn't too bad with it being on the wii u, but it got destroyed by games like mario kart 8.

Not the same. The Deluxe versions can overrun Switch's catalogue of games and push actual new games aside so the Switch would ultimately become a WiiU Pro.

I dunno, to me it feels rather cheap to just be parading out a stream of ports as the console's big heavy-hitters for any given time in the year. Ideally there'd be a good, steady stream of new content, and I think Nintendo should be focusing their development budget and time on that. Also, like @Saiyan Lusitano said above, releasing a whole bunch of "Deluxe" versions could oversaturate the Switch library. Likely better to release them as VC titles.

The Switch is like the WiiU right now. A desert which has a lot of potential to become a lush green overgrown jungle. But it won't because Ninty refuses to let it. Also, the WiiU was a real lowpoint in Nintendo history, it really needs some of the games to get to actual people - at least that is what I think.

Mario 3D World was basically an HD version of Mario 3D Land with new content.

Mario 3D world has a 4-player co-op; that is something entirely different i think than just "new content". Also, it is loads of fun; and while the Switch has the potential for multiplayer co-op, i don't see anything good coming of it anytime soon. Unless they release the SNES VC soon with Secret of Mana, but yeah, that game is 24 years too old.

The Switch is of course nowhere near powerful enough to run a WiiU VC, so ports are the only option.

Just have it released as digital titles because if Nintendo keeps on pumping Deluxe left and right, the interest for newly developed games will probably die. Not to mention the Switch's catalogue of games isn't great right now.

Ninty has been making some head-scratching decisions throughout their entire history in the games business, and I really do hope they don't step on their own toes too much with the Switch. The Switch definitely seems to have a lot more momentum than the Wii U did. It's already been selling well in March and we're yet to get into the holiday season. They're marketing it well, and people actually know what it's all about, unlike the confused and obscure marketing of the Wii U. The Wii U was not really novel as much as it was gimmicky. The Switch, meanwhile, is quite novel. A hybrid console like it is quite appealing to many people, myself included.

Now, about Wii U VC, I don't think the Switch will be able to emulate Wii U games. Rather, I think they could pull off quick ports and just pass them off as VC titles.

Now that you mention... didn't Nintendo rework/redevelop N64 games to be playable on the Wii? They passed those as VC on the Wii.

as long as i loved some of those Wii U games , they we're made to be exclusive to the Wii U. We need new games instead of just a port with extra stuff and the word "deluxe" in the title. If anything a Bayonetta 2 Deluxe would be okay , but then again , it would be better to do a next Bayonetta game (which i dont think it could happen) than just a port.

I don't want a lot of ports! I only want ONE. The ONE ultimate WiiU game that should GET a port, in a series that will be forgotte for some time. So far, we only got ONE port, and i just want another ONE to have on the go. And it better not be that Starfox mess.

One of the biggest mistakes of the WiiU was the name, or rather the marketing of the name. They wanted it to sound like a sequel to the Wii, but for casual Wii gamers it was totally confusing. And for a lot of others too.

One of my girlfriends called me up one day for advise, asking me whether she should buy a WiiU. But she thought it was just an accessory of sorts? Totally confusing conversation we had. I told her "no no no it has HD graphics? you know? not fugly as crap?" That was years back. She knows the difference now, as she greatly enjoys Yoshi's Woolly World on it. =).

So. Two other friends I consider kind of semi-hardcore gamers were over two weeks back; they have a giant private cinema set up next to their living room, for watching movies and playing games. They obvs own the latest in Xboxes and Ps4s. So they were over, and asked me "what is THAT?" when they saw the WiiU pad lying arounnd randomly on my couch somewhere between all the Wiimotes and Gamecube Controllers Wii White edition japanese imports with long cables. I said "Oh just WiiU, you know? Never seen it?" and ignored it. Later on, the other one asked me, "what is that device?" Pointing at the *thing* between my Denon sound system and my Switch. So I said "Yeah that is the actual WiiU?" and he asked, "Doesn't it have ugly graphics?" So at this point I was annoyed and suggested to play some. They were kind of blown away by Splatoon and Mario 3D World, and immediately wanted to buy. So that is the epic marketing fail Nintendo made in a name, I think. People didn't get it.

Wow... I forgot about that.... I want Clayfighter 63 1/3 Sculptors Cut and Wetrix now.

I was in 5th grade when the Wii U was first announced (I'm 16 now for reference). I remember distinctly talking to all my school friends about the Wii U. Literally all of us thought it was an add-on to the Wii. It wasn't until later that someone pointed out there's a new box under the TV in the reveal trailer that we began wondering if we had to buy a whole new system for the Wii U. We thought the "Wii U" was just the tablet. It didn't help that one of the first games they showed off was Wii Sports Club, which we all thought was normal Wii Sports except upgraded to use the GamePad screen. Terrible marketing work. The system was out of sight, out of mind for another two or three years. Then, my brother and I were walking through Target when we saw a Wii U demo unit and went to try it out. They had The Wind Waker HD running and we were completely blown away by how cool the Wii U was right then and there! So a few months later, we bought one. Friends came over and I showed them Splatoon and they were quite jealous and would've loved to play that game. Honestly, the system is quite appealing, like you said. A shame no one even knew it existed because of nonexistent marketing.

Now that you mention... didn't Nintendo rework/redevelop N64 games to be playable on the Wii? They passed those as VC on the Wii.
I dunno what methods they used, but yeah, there were definitely N64 games on the Wii. I remember buying Majora's Mask from the Wii Shop Channel.

I would say Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and Super Mario 3D World (poll only allows voting for one option).
