Yeah, I just thougt that if you could like decrypt a gen 4-5 pokemon file and modify it, encrypt it and inject it by other means than using pokemon tranfer. If someone find a way to transfer it over with less checks.
Maybe there would be a chance there. Im aware that its probably not going to happen and that a pokemon file is really primitive. But since im no expert in pokemon files I dont know what is possible.
Maybe you could like call hexvalues that calls for a function instead of a "pokemon move" and then trigger something in a battle? Heck I dunno im just brainstorming here.

Really? Because I remember it being the main reason to get a gameshark/Codebreaker, to do the missingno glitch, to clone pokemon with trades and such like.
I'm talking about this new "Battle Analyzer" thing... we didn't have something like that

Oh yeah online emulation is a thing. I was thinking for the cable based stuff.

For online I will have to take a look at the pokemon link cable protocol, whether they would have transmitted loadouts for caching purposes (what I imagine happened for this stuff) or not I am not sure. In the future I imagine it will probably go more like normal console multiplayer online and become a glorified vnc... you then just have to be the server.

I was thinking the electrical engineering part would be more fun... though now you say it pokemon has had a few of those rewrite the game from button presses hacks.

Interesting pokemon hacks from a technical level, who would have guessed.
