Use ZR as A button replacement when choosing your attack. maybe hold a sec after clicked with ZR on the attack. Then, even when the Pokemons HP doesn't get to 0, the Pokemon is fainted. But if you are fighting vs trainers with more than two Pokemon, make sure to use it on the last two ones or have the earlier mons HP reach 0.
If fainted with this cheat and the Pokemon has still HP left, the trainer will reuse this "fainted" Pokemon and you'll softlock yourself.

And you can always edit codes with Hold/press buttons to on/off codes, just look some pages back, there should be a post from myself. But in this thread, this was explained pretty often, so you should be able to find any post.

Ngl, tried exactly what you said and it didn't work. I've been playing the battle tower so maybe that's it but the code should work regardless. Also looked for the (hold) code edit and couldn't find it.

probably but i doubt they have full animations they will only have walk cycle and I don't want to do it myself.

Nope the battle tower uses its own set up needs something completely different no battle codes should work there. But thats fine battle tower is easy enough anyway.

Cant say for sure why it doesnt work for you. The code is correct and i just now tested it again and it works flawlessly on diamond 1.1.1 (not going to work for pearl)

Make sure you are holding L before the encounter

Qell other than what i mentioned idk how to set up codes there. And the xp cheat is dumb i would suggest the 999 rare candy code as its far better but that i know doesnt seem to work on emulator

The chain code 999 use only after at least a chain of one. Then when in the overworld turn it on and off again. Then refresh the radar key item it will change to 999 dont use before a chain of 1 and dont use when in a battle. And dont keep it on
