THE CULTURE SOLD

one day you will want it back,
or at least got nostalgic about it.

it wont be there
it wont be there

you will go to history books
it wont be there

it will not be reasonable
but there you are, you will have
everyone's freedom and not your own

to go back to. you will have surveillance
and no home. you will have diversity

and nothing familiar: you will have a country
of abstraction, and idea of everyone

and nothing. you will have landscape
that cries for a style
of what you were, and you will stutter
and offer it freedoms, like the wind.

as you go like a banshee from one myth to anther.
you will be hungry for someone like yourself,
as you touch the braille of others.

and feel the hot blood
surge to your eyes, blind with everything

and ask to show your to the sky
and be recognized

Ok, so this is a for my poetry test, im suppose to write the 2 themes of the poem
could some one offer some help?
im thinking freedom or regret , but i do not have strong support for them

OK, leetcakes, the two themes of the poem 'The Culture Sold' are nostalgia and familiarity because the author misses how it was before being with people of his kind. My sister helped me for that poem. Hope this helps you...

More input? Here's the answers:

When he says it can't be found anywhere, it means only he knows what it's about, specifically his culture. He longs for people of the same culture, because he is alone in a diverse community.

That's the answer for you, leetcakes.
