Note: You can use any controller, but this tutorial will only describe the steps to do it with a gamecube controller + official gamecube controller adapter. Anyway, only the first step is related with the controller. The other steps are the same for every controller.

Requirements:

• A 3DS with CFW and a CIA installer
• Homebrew Launcher (latest version) or NTR CFW
• InputRedirection
  • for NTR (https://github.com/Kazo/InputRedirection/releases/tag/NTR-build)
  • for Homebrew Launcher (https://github.com/Kazo/InputRedirection/releases/tag/master-build)
• InputRedirection PC Client
  • for NTR (https://github.com/Kazo/InputRedirectionClient/releases/tag/NTR-build)
  • for Homebrew Launcher (https://github.com/Kazo/InputRedirectionClient/releases/tag/master-build)
• A PC with Windows
• A Gamecube controller
• Official gamecube controller adapter
• Wii U USB GCN Driver (http://m4sv.com/page/wii-u-gcn-usb-driver)
• XPadder (http://xpadder.com/) or a freeware alternative

Recomended:

• Wireless Network Watcher (http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/wireless_network_watcher.html)

Steps:
1. Install the driver of the Official gamecube controller adapter in your pc (there's a lot of tutorials on the internet, so please google) and run it.
2. Configure Xpadder (It's pretty easy with a noob-proof GUI). Remember the keys you choose for each button.

Now you have to choose an option

NTR CFW (recommended - better compatibility )
3. In your 3DS install InputRedirectionNTR.cia.
4. Run NTR CFW, press X+Y and select "Enable Debugger"
5. Run the installed CIA.

Homebrew Launcher (not recommended - worse compatibility)
3. In your 3DS install InputProc.cia and put the 3ds folder in the root of your sd card In
4. Run The Homebrew Launcher and launch input_loader.
5. Press start and then x to return to the home menu


6. Now in your PC, go to the PC Client and open InputRedirection NTR.exe (InputRedirection .exe if you chose the HBL option)
7. Press F1 to set your 3DS IP address (use wireless network watcher or ftpbrony to know it) and then ESC
8. Press F2 to set the key for each button of your 3ds (you can use Xpadder to remember what keys you used for the gamecube controller). To do it, first you have to press the pre-selected key, and then press the new key for each button. Once you're ready press ESC.
9. Test the controls (also, you can press F4 to show debug information).
10. Enjoy

just download ntr debugger

learn your ip with fbi go to network install

run controller thingy then ntr make sure debugger is open on 3ds

make sure InputRedirectionNTR.exe is opened before ntrdebuger

connect('192.168.X.XXX', 8000) type your ip adress and press enter on ntrdebuger

and just type

write(0x0105AE4, (0x70, 0x47), pid=0x1a)

and press enter

Im havin a bunch of trouble getting the Xbox One controller to work with it, anyone know if its possible, am using JoyToKey. Detects all the presses but when its outside of the thing it just wont work, nor will it work by itself without joytokey either. The Tool seems to detect my xbox 360 controller and works fine sending controls to the 3ds, problem is the controllers broken so yeah....

I got the controller to work on things such as the home menu but whenever i launch smash, i no longer can use the controller. Has anyone had this issue? Im using an old 3ds A9LH LumaCFW.

it does, but smash uses all extra memory on the o3ds including the same one that ntr does, so smash and ntr on o3ds doesn't combine
however, there's the homebrew way, that i'm not sure if it works

o3ds Smash does a reboot - it won't work at all but on n3ds smash has enough memory to function without a reboot

i'm going to work on merging kazo's changes properly and straightening out a few problems (Persona Q overwriting for example) soon

this is totally the best thing why I keep NTR (with layered fs)
If only it could be made as default on NAND, I mean to be installed in files and no more the need to launch an icon etc.
Would it be possible for A9LH user for example ?

PS: Bit of topic is there a way to boot NTR with Debugger enabled by default? (I know there is NTR Debugger boot but does it load LayerFS too?)

Works fine using my Xbox One controller and antimicro. You will always have to have the mapper tool running and the input sender tool in focus unless it gets an update to directly support Xinput controllers (I don't think it does?).

E: According to a previous post by KazoWAR, it does indeed support xinput. I should've read the included readme haha. But how? Enabling the gamepad, then trying to change anything in the F3 menu doesnt register my Xbox One controller.


Btw @Stary2001 @KazoWAR would it be possible to bind keys to emulate bottom screen touches at certain coordinates as well? This would be insanely nice!

The program itself isnyt picking up the presses, it does when using keyboard but not controller bounded with antimicro, the computer pics it up fine only program that isnt is the ntr redirection tool

I've got this working with NTR viewer, so that's a good thing.

Only thing I could possibly want more is native gamecube controller support (or even c-stick support w/ the 360 controller that is currently supported)
