hello! I'm thinking that some games like mario part does not have online multiplyer, only local .. I'm thinking f its possible in any way to use the computer to emulate the local link, but to link you with one or more friends from another place, doing the same thing...
it just the idea I got , is this just a far dream? lol

Nice idea, I've also thought about that, sad thing is you can't even see the wireless connection that the 3DS is making when waiting for players (creating room), if you could see it (might be hidden ssid) maybe you can emulate it somehow, but first step is seeing it.
Might be a wifi direct hot stop, really tough to know.

If this was PC you'd be looking for something like Hamachi/Tunngle but for the 3ds it'd probably not work.

This "idea" is something people have been contemplating for the original DS for 10 years. Anything is possible with the right tools, hacks, and pieces, but right now, augmenting the 3DS or even the DS for that matter are in their infancy, and will likely never truly bloom like the PSP. With as locked down as DS/3DS/Nintendo is, theres just no room, or hasn't been room for those kind of advanced tweeks.

What you want is only possible through PC emulation, and as far as my knowledge go, that hasn't been done yet for DS and arguably GBA, so I can't even begin to imagine how behind 3ds emulation is.

@linuxares the dev just ends up at 0

it's no worse than if you pirated
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
it's probably better, because not all keys on key sites are stolen
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
plus piracy is not always an option

i heard a related story for a dev actually

DRMs are getting stronger these days
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
they bought their own game on a key site and checked where they came from and it turned out they were review copies he had given out by email to someone
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    *all* of them
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
no storefront I'm aware of (at least on pc) requires the devs to pay for the keys they generate
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
they don't lose money doing this, even if someone decide to chargeback
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
so that seems to be a pretty common thing, i kinda blame the dev for that one though as they were giving out like 5 keys to someone just because they asked for multiple copies for review for whatever reason and there were multiple people doing this. he should've seen the red flags
  • linuxares @ linuxares:
@The Real Jdbye Yet devs tell US that they get charged possible charge backs? Its no idea we keep this up since I have to trust the devs more than key reseller sites.

(the chargeback is a penalty fee from the Credit card company, apparently around 30$)
