Homebrew Old SD card on new console?

I just bought a new "old Ninendo 3DSXL" because the first one broke. I still have a 32GB SD card left from my old 3DS that I installed all mods and cias on. Is there a way i can use this card on my new console so i can get these games back, or should I format the SD card?

Also i just modded it using the SD card i got with it.

You can't move installed content, but you can reinstall cia format game.

Yep, if you have any games in cia format on the old sd card you can install them on the new system. But not for installed titles. Goes without saying that the 3ds has to be modded in order to install cia files.
Anyway, Just format whatever sd card you want to use as Fat32 32kb cluster size, copy any cia files if you still have them, along side the necessary cfw files of course.
