Old Nintendo 3DS XL has CFW installed but doesn't show it

Hello,

I have recently installed a Custom Firmware, Luma onto my Nintendo 3DS by using a CFW Starter Kit which worked on my normal 3DS, but pressing select and the power button doesn't boot into anything, and neither does start and the power button.
There aren't any special software on my 3DS either.
Would anyone be able to help me out? Luma is up to date and I'm not seeing any guides regarding to this.

    Well, from what I've heard from my parents, he had a seizure last night, perhaps an epileptic episode, fucking died, had a near death experience, my dad called the paramedics, they showed up, took him to the hospital, and he woke up covered in tubes, and started complaining.
